Isaac, this is a great image. After reading Michele's comment, I had to go back and look again. I read your description but missed the part that it was a real person. At first glance I thought it was a statue in color. You stopped the action and everything is sharp which is why I thought the real person was a statue. Nice job on this comical image! |

Michele, I think this is a good image. I like the use of black and white. Three subjects look like they had a good time. I see the full depth of field. I understand you wanted the motion blur to depict movement but for me with the foreground and background being sharp and the subjects being soft, it takes away from the visual appeal. I do like that you left a little room in front of the returning swimmers. I would've cropped more off the top of the image. |

Bruce, I like the tighter crop. I like the use of the radial gradients in the background and foreground putting more attention on the action. I might suggest doing an even tighter crop and the right - right up to the boys back eliminating the big ole' cowboy hat. As Michele stated it is an attention getter. I also might suggest lowering the saturation down a bit. Otherwise, nice job capturing a good PJ moment of youth's learning to judge. |

Bev, I agree with everyone's comments. You have a strong focal point and an excellent depth of field. It's unfortunate that our world is so "connected" yet many are so disconnected from reality. Great photo, good vantage point and good crop with more room in front of him. Well done! |
