Hi Ling Ling - I love monochrome and what an interesting shot to capture textures and contrast. My eye wants to follow the leading lines in the floor, the ceiling and then the giant "X" marking the spot higher up. I think the doors could be a story all by themselves. |

Hi Janice - great shot and I love the colors. I agree with Don and Julie about removing the foreground rocks. This image is all about the sky - the lights and the mountain give you any scale you might need to balance. I would totally put this on my wall, or buy the postcard... :) |

Hi Catherine - this is a great story. I agree with Don's suggestions on the tub. I actually see a couple of stories here, one with the crabs and the dynamic with the tub and the steam, but also one about the hands themselves. The grip and position of the fingers along with the water drops and grit on the gloves are what grab my attention the most. Like adding more of the tub, I think changing the perspective a bit to isolate the hands from the rest of the body might have added another element or interpretation to your story. I love all of the blues, especially the tones in the crabs - and I don't mind the pop of red because it gives some contrast. I am dying to know what happened next... |

Hi Julie - what a great subject, and it almost glows golden. The birds and the people on the left give a sense of what it feels like to be there in that moment. However, what really struck me about this image is the repeating patterns. Have you explored cropping it in different ways to narrow the story down? Reducing some of the conflicting elements e.g. the activity to the left, the birds, and/or the reflection would focus the eye on the lines and form of the structure itself. |
