I love the structure of this image and the complete contrast of the reflection pool with its hazy reflection, the black verticals hold the image together so well and then is broken by the inclusion of the dumper truck, which is in complete contrast and breaks the structure well. Some will love and some will hate. I am on the love side. However I do wish that it was parked about 6 feet back from where it is for symmetry, lovely image and strong black and white. |

This one I sat and studied for a while, mainly to see how it could be improved, could it go monochrome. No it is to busy, it does make an image but does not make a great picture with good structure. Can it be cropped, yes and no, you could crop the top off just above the large rock at the back. You could crop the right off and make it more a square image. But you have the same issue. Two images fighting your eye for dominance, the back and the foreground and neither giving way.
THe real image is those amazing rock formation in the river and the colorations in them. The shape and structures the water have carved. These would have been the main subject as the small fall at the back was to messy and the green dominated. But I love those rocks. |

I is a lovely Castle and this image does start to show off the slope that it is built on. If this was mine I would have like the whole of the corner of the wall, the harsh edce of the wall would of been fine for the scene and would have given a much stronger lead line for the eye to follow. The camera control is good.
I include a version in Monochrome just to show how much better this looks with all the texture and details not being invaded by colour. |

I don't know if you have shown this tree or someone else, but I have this feeling that I have seen this tree stump before. Your have taken the image well, the light is very kind to you. The man looks well prepared for the job in hand yo capture whatever he needs. The colour the light is throwing across the image is very nice. But I do look at this and want more. I want to see more of where you are and how this situation sits in its surroundings, I am waiting for the next image in the slide show hoping that it will show us. But it is a very well taken image. |

Thank you for the great comment.
In the UK, faces in the public domain, i.e. Through cafe windows or in restaurant from the street is allowed, but taking image of people in their homes from the street is not allowed and is classed as spying and is arrestable.
There are so many rules and fine lines that you have to be so careful what you shoot. |

Its good fun doing this, you have done it well with good balance of light across the image. The shadows are deep and the highlights are nice and not blown. Strong work. Keep playing. |

Must admit this is what I spend most of my time taking nowadays, street photography is fun but you have to be careful. Many people don't like it. But these two seem to be in deep conversation and enjoying there coffee. Shame about the table in front but very hard sometime to get things out of the way. I may have crop that shoulder off on the left. The two faces behind right are great and you don't notice them first time. Good street image and well cropped. |

I think that both images have their merits and hold their own. Part of me would have liked to have seen the whole building and how it sat of the ground as you would have more an effect of the skeleton. Shame it had come to its end. |

Thank you for that, I did try a more contrast version, but I much preferred the softer touch for the reflection. |

The shape and shadows of this image do naturally form to monochrome and allow for some lovely tones in the image. With some pre work on the colour image to remove to blue cast there is a very strong colour image hiding there. Then turning that monochrome the tones sing. But I do think your crop is to harsh, Cropping that second strut so tight you have foreshortened the image. With my version. I cropped to the base of the second pillar. In transform toll/skew I straighten the image left and up. and then removed the plant.
Silver Efex 8 More Silver Enhanced Red, and Blue channels.
But it was a strong colour image to start with. Just need finishing. |

"Are windows not a frame onto the shop within" I think that was said by some seleb over here once.
I do like an image like this and even better when it is in monochrome, I know it's someone's else's art in someone's else's shop, but it has been placed there to be admired, So why not for a picture and take the shot. So many times we walk past these and look what we miss.
Love it. |
