This is a strong image and that main building has impact with the growth up the front. The composition is well done and water and shadow at the foot adds to the image. I do think you tonality could do with a tweak. Looking in the histogram the highlights are lacking and the blacks are a tad deep. A little tweak of highlights and a pull back on the blacks does make for a strong difference, but it is no good me doing it as it needs to come from the original. I tried it in luminosity mask and it looked good. But strong image for mono and architecture comps. |

This must have one of those moment that just settle you into a moment of peace. The simplicity and beauty of nature at its full. It must have been a joy to stand there and breath.
Well done and thank you for sharing such a moment of peace and beauty. Deep joy. Paul |

I have seen many image of this, but not many shown in Monochrome, you have captured all the detail perfectly and have got the symmetry spot on. The shadows have been handle just right so we have the detail we need. It is a joy to see. In monochrome you tend to see the detail you lose in colour. Beautiful image.

The top three quarters of this image is such a joy for a monochrome work like me, those delicate tones and that kiss the clouds are ding is just perfect. But I do agree with Marilyn that the road only acts as a distraction to the main event and losing it does not detract from a master piece. Good piece of manualist monochrome work if you remove the road. |

This brings back fond memories of my youth and those long cycle holidays in the highlands of Scotland, I have never popped over to Ireland and I do know what I have mist as it is stunning. This shows that off so well with the winding road and the endless view and the clear, crisp image that the phones produce. Makes my brain want to get back on a bike, but not my body. Lovely. |

You have to view this image large to get the effect you were getting while standing taking the image. Viewing it small you would think it is a normal picture of a set of trees. But the water reflection gives it this lovely water colour effect. This image would do well as an A3/10x8 print. Well spotted image. |

Good day for a picnic. Well that was a great day for some images, you have captured the battering well. Your two images does show how much colour can hide, I never notice the house in the colour.
If you use Lightroom, first thing you should do in develop is press Auto. You will be surprised at how good it is now at balancing your images out.
I think your DOF is spot on and bar the touch more highlights your toning is great. Must have been a good day for images. |

This is another wonderful dance image and the two dancers have been captured at just the right moment.
If this was mine I would like to do the folllowing, make three seperate layers. 1. The Dancers 2. The Backdrop. 3> The Stage. I would not touch the dancers, the stage does only need minor tweaks but you them after the backdrop. The backdrop you are trying the get that depth in the shadows that you have in the colour version. Then balance with stage. I would be doing this in Photoshop with luminosity Masks. We are only talking subtle movements but the death and difference to the dancers would be great. Special with those orange and reds. Worth a play on a virtual copy.
But a lovely image. |

This is a nice casual street portrait, great eye contact and detail to the face. The highlights have been handled well and the background managed nicely. Shame you don't have a touch more room on the right. Very pleasing portrait. |

This is a very good monochrome, the tones are very well handled and the highlights are spot on. I am amazed that the old build is still there and in such a state and the new factory is operating next door. Don't think that would happen over here. I am just wondering with the format of the image that the main part is dead centre and the most is to the right that a square format may work for this image as an alternative. Only you knew as the taker what was there. |

David I think this is a great idea that you have stop one step to short, from the eagle image of would have only used the eagle and found some else for it to land on that was not so invasive and did not look like mush when you applied the textures. The textures work just the foliage is awful. Sorry. |
