Once a week I go to my posh book shop and to the photography section to see what coffee table books they have in that week.
This is the type of image I expect to see in there, you expect someone like Curry or Parr to have taken this.
Simplistic, space, tonality and grain. Just wonderful and should be printed.
p.s. Looks good in monochrome as well. |

This is a very well taken image, the depth of field and focal point is spot on. The detail and texture in the rock are very good and those green splashes stand out well.
But the image for me is slightly unbalanced and comes across a touch busy, so your eye does not flow and go where you want them to. But with a very slight crop by taking a slither off the right and foot the balance is there and the centre mass of rock becomes strong. Lovely image. |

This is my bread and butter as I spend many a day photography our Cathedrals and am always seen on the floor looking up. This shows off so well why. All the best bits are up there. So well taken with great detail and the tones are spot on. You have managed all the converging angles well and it is a joy to view. Its a great monochrome image and would sit so well in my other study group. Wish I had took it. |

That is a great specimen shot of the tree, it is framed well by that plash of sunlight of the wall as you call it. I love how the old debris sits around the tree, never to move, sort of frozen in time. This is a cracking shot. You could have given a touch more space. But that is just my taste. |

That is a very pleasing view, I thought when I first saw it that it had to be this way, North Wales maybe, So Ireland does not surprise me. I have to admit I would have love to see a landscape version or even an panorama if your phone has that option, as I want to see more. But what you have shown is very pleasing and is well worth a touch more work to give it a touch more tonality and a touch more sharpness.
But very pleasing. |

The wonderful colour of the reflection has been caught well and the steam has be handled just right, but what I love is the glimpses of the turquois blue of the water beyond. it adds that touch of different and adds how different the conditions are just meters away. Very interesting image to see. |

As said you have chosen a difficult subject to produce a good monochrome image. But there are tones in there. You say that you put it through Silver Efex. But you must have put it into Silver Efex and back out again without using any of the tolls to pull the tones out. You have this nice rim of red on the tops of the leaves and there lots of tones in those greens that the eye is not seeing.
So I ran your original back through Silver Efex 8 using Preset Street High Contrast, then tweaked the detail and tonal. Added Clearview 10% and added a border 14. Now this may be over the top but it does show what is in the image. So something in-between the two would be the choice. |

This is a joy and is an image I wish I took. Full of detail and tones and just has that depth that you have to follow to the end. If it was me I may have got a touch lower, but that is picking small holes. Fabulous image that I am jealous of. |

I could go down to Beachy Head and wave. They are nearly I identical to the English side and form a line under the channel. They also have the same problem as you can see from the beach, They are slowly falling into the see as the storms get stronger. Great image that shows of the scale of them and those two people add great scale. |

Congratulation for being in the right place at the right time. The Hippo is on crossing duty, I did not know that the Zebra's would run with them, so that is a surprise. Does not look like any crocs waiting for them. Great wildlife image and must have been a sight to see. |

The first thing that hits me is the great composition, you have captured the flow of the stairs well. The second thing is to see someone doing it the old way, Low ISO, Long exposures, three into one. Now we do it in one with high ISO or mobiles that just doing it with ease. The slashes of light are caught just right with the glow coming off that Tiffany light shade. I love that inlay into the ceiling, Very fascinating.
You do get the feeling of a dark Stairwell with subtle lighting and a Victorian/Edwardian feel. |

Your handling of the image hhas been done well, not the easiest of image to work on as so much of it in the yellow bias. The butterfly is there nicely, a little clashing with the background, but not that bad. It is a shame the head of the flower is not that sharp as it does stand out a touch. But good conversion. |
