Alfred Hitchcock eat your heart out. He would be drooling over this set up, lady stands in doorway, mysterious shadow with knife comes up behind her. This is just brilliant and is well spotted, well balanced and well taken. Well done. |

There are some lovely texture and tones throughout this image and the dapple light on the tree is coming across well. The barn is nicely hidden but just giving us glimpses of what is there. The pile in front gives us the view it is active. I get two feelings when I view this, one I am waiting for John Wayne to come riding in from the right, The second is the back of my brain is yelling at me "More". I just would love to see a little more.
You say you have three images of this, have you tried to make a virtual copy of each, keep one at the settings it is, turn one to 1.5 stops under exposed and the other to 1 stop over exposed and then produce a new raw file. Then use that to work on. You will have a raw large than normal with a much higher dynamic range. All can be done in Lightroom.
By the way it is a very good image. |

The scene with the setting sun and the birds over the trees set it quite nicely, but I find that the darks have filled in way to much that no detail is coming from them. It is also killing off the foreground trees. The bit of foreground growth in the image does not help. Must have been a great moment to see but it is not coming over on the image. Sorry. |

You have found yourself a very strong subject to have some fun with. You could have spent all day with these and watch what the light did with them.
The image is nice but I do believe you can do better. The shape you have presented has curtailed the poles a touch and is not allowing them to breath, there are a couple of shadows that feel out of place an act as a block for the image. I do however think you have a very strong image here.
I have taken your original and done what I would do with it if I was to use it for competition. This allows the poles and shadows to breath and elongates the image.
Yes I have remove two big shadows that did not fit the image. Just an alternative view. |
