This must have been a pleasant walk, very peaceful and hopefully cool in the shade of the trees, the image is nice and the path is drawing you to the bright area of grass in the distance. But the large rock is grabbing you and pulling you back and for me is the dominate part of the image. Maybe more could have been made of this rock. |

Now this looks a lovely spot to while away an afternoon just sitting a taking images of waves and rocks. The colours and tones are spot one. Now for the people in the scene, some are going to say great and nice positioning, they add good scale etc. But I am going the other way and say the rocks waves and trees are strong enough and the people are not needed. They draw your eye away from the wave and splash. |

Our timing of images can not be better. Last time I was there I watched a man an woman get rescued off the roof of their very expensive Mercedes. They never learn. Did the walk many years ago as you can walk across when the tide is out, visit once every four years. As said, winter is the best time as the tourist our not there so much.
Your image does show off why you need to heed the rules and not try and cross when the tide is coming in. Some lovely light on the water. Must visit place for any photographer. But work to the tide times. Don't park in the main car park as there is a large carpark in the small village. Thank you Mo for fond memories.

When you first view this you think this is mad as you brain is believing that this is a reflection. But after a dozen G&T it all comes into shape and you realise that it is all one image, your eye start to make sense.
It is a very interesting experiment, but I find it very busy for my poor little brain to take in everything that is there, the varying DOF is very confusing.
But importantly this is one of those image that is going to make you stop and look, may make you brain hurt. But if they stop it is a good image. |

Does look a lovely spot and a very nice monastic chaple. The wind swept tree adds nicely to the image and all the grave stones a in varying angles with the directions on the tree..
For me it would have been nice if you went a step left so you got separation from the grace stone and chapel.
There are two things that catch my eye and a small crop helps the image. The grave stone poking in at the foot and the part grave stone on the right. See example.
Lovely spot. |

This image has convert well to monochrome and the detail on the bear is very nice. It quite amazing that bears are such big animals and have such small eyes. I like how the head is illuminated.
I do look at this and wonder if a vignette would work of some dodging and burning would help on the rocks and background.
Not sure how good you are with PS, but use the clone stamp tool zoomed right in you could lose that line under the belly, I know it is part of the image but it draws my eye. |

I like this, you choice of crop and framing has gone against the norm and breaks the rules. That is nice. Whoever set the rules are not here any more and it times clubs got away from the norm. What do I mean, if you cropped this for a camera club you would have cropped just left of the last pole leaving us no choice but to follow the lead lines down to the three buildings.
But you cropped it in such a manner the the viewer now has three choices, follow the norm to the three buildings, dive off through the two poles to the church or just go left and down to that small gap in the trees.
Nice. You rebel. |

I see winter has come early over there. haha.
I hate these image as it just shows that we are all fulls lugging around all our big camera's and lenses when all you need is an iPhone 13.
Normally I would say cars spoil images like this but on this occasion this car holds the image together and acts as a base for you the viewer to explore the rest of the surroundings. Parts of the image I find a touch harsh and I dislike the lanterns at the foot, but then looking at it as an overall scene. I think it needs to be left alone and just smile as photography as we know it is ending. |

You have composed the scene very well, making the viewing look up the river through the shape of the rocks. For me your speed is just right, but some judges who don't know better don't like slower speed. Just don't listen to them.
You can have fun with images like this, my example will be awful as it is your low res but there is more detail in the water and variations in light and dark on the rocks. But try some dogging and burning, if your not sure how, lots of video's on YouTube. You can have fun with the water and the rocks and really make the image pop. Remember to set your flow to 5%. Be gentle and practice.
Lovely picture.

I am so glad you did go as we would not have seen this. Spectacular lines to the image dominated by the bright white line from the foot that holds the whole image together. Then to the small flurry until you hit the large explosions. You could not have asked for it all to fall into place for you. The tones and contrast on the black a white are impressive.
But oh my the colour version just explodes in your face with a riot of colour. It is a stunning firework image and should be printed large on metal to give you the feel of metallic. it would look fantastic. |
