33 May 21 Comment I am sitting here, thinking of having breakfast sitting on that veranda and watching the sun rise over that wonderful view. Tranquility and silence and fresh air. Thank you. May 17th
33 May 21 Comment You have found a very nice spot to take a picture and have a good balance with the sea and rock. Yes on hindsight you could have used filters to slow the sea down, but this is true to the image. I would have liked the whites held back a touch. The problem I have and it may be just how my brain works, but that sky does not sit with the rest of the image. You say this is taken at 12.29 but the sky looks a more late evening sky with those colours on the base of the clouds. Midday they should be white.
Must have been a lovely holiday though.

33 May 21 Comment As an image it tells one story but with your words it tells another one of hardship and isolation and then having all the dirt track in the foreground makes sense. I was watching a programme last night where they highlighted that English Heritage are now going around and cataloging, drawing and photographing all the old barns and outbuildings so they are not lost to history. In a way you are doing this. What they also had was a man who's job was to go inside the building's a photograph and etchings or marks left by previous owners.
One small point to say technically about you image, under the histogram you are lacking very much in the blacks and shadows area and improving this may add a touch more depth to the image.

33 May 21 Comment You have captured the shape well and the way it catches the light. I do have to agree that in places it is just a touch over exposed and could have been shot a bit underexposed and pulled out but holding back the brighter parts. I would have it starting a touch closer to the corner of the frame. But good idea for a series of image's of the arch in deferent weathers or clouds. May 17th
33 May 21 Comment This is a great idea for an image, a city view within a city view. I like the way it sits in the image and does form this second picture to view. What I also love is that little brown skyscraper just peaking its head out to see if it is safe to come out and play.
However, i do wish you shot this at least a stop less so you could have held those highlights back. I find that the bright skyscraper in the centre background just draws the eye and toning it back may stop this. Also a slight crop off the left to remove the building g machinery would be good. Well seen image thought. Hope you took a few.

39 May 21 Reply It is always best practice to use one of your own skies as using one of PS or any other external programme supplier would make that image illegal for any club, PSA or external competitive use. Some one in the Ukraine has just received a ban for using a supplied element in his image. May 18th
39 May 21 Comment That is an amazing amount of detail you have pulled from the colour image, the land does form a nice fan shape. The sky is a bit sad and I think you will struggle to pull more out of it, maybe replace it with another you have taken that fits the image better. May 17th
39 May 21 Comment Nice camera set-up. Great idea for an image that nearly comes off but I just hate that thing in the background that for me does not add to the image. The focus on the knot of the hat is just right. Simple image with a lot of power. May 17th
39 May 21 Comment This type of image are what I call "book cover images". i.e. they are well proportioned for a front cover of a book, leaving room for the title and all the other rubbish's that goes on it. "Death at Castle View" there you go the title, now all you have to do it write the book.
Well composed with great angles and nicely placed model. Well done.

39 May 21 Comment I like the idea of this image, but I am not sure it works. Where the bridge is meant to lead you into the image and you then look around the island and the rest of the image, I find that it block me. So in a way the image forms two parts. The bridge, then you look up and see the land and I don't think the land holds its own. Sorry to say I really do not like the larger tree or what ever it is coming out of the top of the other tree near the tower, just looks weird to me.
Must have to say that this does look a nice place to visit.

39 May 21 Comment I have spent quite a while looking at this to decide what i think, the improvement from the colour to the monochrome is vast and the detail that comes out is amazing.
The problem I have with this image, you have two dominate blooms, the one near centre and the second off to the right which to me is the dominate part of the image, but the focus is being force off to the left owing to the flow of the image and pulled away from that second bloom on the right. I wonder if you toned that background down a touch it would bring the foreground more to the fore.
