I do have to compliment you on your chose of position for this image, I do think you could have got this any better. That waiting paid off for a wonderful splash of light that complimented that frosted field that just draws the viewers eye into the image. It is such a simple image that is full of views that you cannot help but stop and look. I one of those, if you get what I mean. |

A nice field of sunflowers and the trees in the background, the hut breaks the two layers well and is set quite well on the thirds. Difficult to see how to improve this without visiting this on numerous days to get different light fulling across the scene and trying different hight variations.
However, I would do a small crop on the right to lose the quarter head and slightly larger crop on the left to lose the small sunflower bottom left corner. You could also play with the light and tonality but to get the best results you need the raw file. |

I love the concept of the chair to the old house/barn and the feeling it inspires. I also like the way the infrared had handled the tree and how delicate they feel, but I then find the way the infrared handles the grass a touch overpowering and I lose the feeling of the individual grasses in a mass of white. Yet again though another wonderful found opportunity for an image that there is no hope of finding in the UK as this would have been bought and three houses would be on it. |

I watched two nights ago a programme of a group of men rowing the length of the canyon in three crafts of the same design of the first person to navigate the canyon and you realised from that how vast and powerful it is.
This image beautifully shows an alternative view of how vast it is from the top of the world or that is the feeling you get. This would have been so easy to get wrong as the amount of light that was bouncing around this shot would have been awful. But you have handled the shot very well and have produced a pin-sharp, perfectly exposed image that shows off the canyon to its full effect for someone like me who will only get this close. Well done. |

How some designers come up with these designs and then get them built, I must admit it is great for us photographers. Must be a nightmare to house a collection in or have a lot of empty space. Beautifully taken with great detail and just the right sky.
Now I would not want to meet the giant that wears that as a hat. |

If I was just viewing the image in a competition, I would instantly say Africa, the layers are spot on and that dark forboding sky holds it all and then to get all the deer pin-sharp is brilliant.
People pay a lot of money to go on safari to Africa to get images like this and don't come back with anything this good. Jealous of England. |

What a wonderful feeling you have captured with those wispy clouds running over those mountains, that one running up the centre looks like a giant wave. I am waiting for Gandalf, Strider & Legolas to appear.
I would work on that bright strip of cloud in the centre of the sky as it dominates the image and pulls the eye and just below it in the centre there is a mark in the cloud that looks like a dust spot, I would remove it.
Wonderful image. |

I have to agree that you have done really well to bring out that much detail in the horse, to be honest, the background is so bad because of the light, that you may as well cut the horse out and use it in its own fantasy image or in another background. A great one to practice with. As they are next door easy to go back and take more if the owner is still happy. |

I do like the angle and composition of your shot, you have captured the flow of the water well with good speed settings. Overall your tonal settings are good, but I would love to alter to parts, the main rock on the right is dominating the image for me as it the brightest spot, I would like to select that and work on the brights and tone it back, then work on the waterfall and get the whiter streaks to be whiter and brighter to make that more dominate.
A good image with great DOF and focus. |

I have a friend who many years ago when digital photography started took an image in a snowfield or so he said so, he won quite a few gold medals with the image but it had never seen a camera. So for me, images like this have to be perfect and without question.
Well, this does and has a wonderful simple balance with that simple triangle of grasses that you have perfect detail. The texture in the sand is just about right or could have just a touch more, but the angles give a lovely feel of dunes edges. A very pleasing image that I would love to see as a fine art print and see those sand details come out. |

What catches my attention with this image is the position you have the bird in and the effect of the bird appearing around the stem to see what is there makes this a very endearing image to view.
Pin sharp where it needs to be and just enough detail in the eye to hold the viewer's attention to the head.
A crop of the left to make this more right bias would suit as that is the direction the bird is looking in.
The colour is also very good but could do with a touch of tonal work.
Lovely capture. |
