The only reason I mention "your camera" is that a full-frame can go to 100% instead of 75%.
I know that Lightroom and PS, but this is a great way to see what potential you have in the image tonal range. It something I have been doing for years and gave got used to and may not work for others and goes back to my days of working in the print industry. |

I love the way those lines in the pavements lead you into the building and you have done well getting the plaque in. I would have taken one step back so I got more room on top and as those trees are so dense I would replace the sky to a sky I had taken that would complement the building more.
I think with a different sky the tone that the building is giving will change and pop but at the moment is being affected by the sky. |

Sorry, Elizabeth this is terrible, way too many wheels.
Love the open road with no one around, very hard to find over here, North Scotland is the only place nowadays. So this does say to me what you were intending it to do. Just stick a nice Indian Chief or Triumph and I would be very happy. |

The UK is so small compared to the USA that places like this are knocked down or turned into a three-bedroom house so fast. It is so hard to find these and then to be able to get near them is another matter as they would have barriers and barb wire around them.
This is a nice image of the building, but I do think this could have been a lot sharper and crisper as the building was not moving. I would have liked a touch more room around especially on the right.
Do like Elizabeths versions for a bit of fun. |

This does come across with a dramatic feel of the flowers nestled in and protected from the elements. The tone and everything adds the feeling of this need for snuggling down. I do wonder though if a slight turn to the left would have been helpful for the image to give more of the expanse. But very dramatic. |

I think you have chosen a good viewpoint to show off the vastness of the amazing place, the work you have done in PS is good and you are improving well. As you see from Elizabeth's versions there is more you can do with the dehaze slider and you could have bought a touch more out of the shadows. But at the same time lifted the blacks to give more depth. But very strong effort.
Here is a little trick for you, in Lightroom or Bridge whichever raw you use, in develope first panel you have, Highlights, Shadows, Whites & Black.
With your camera, move the highlight slider to the left to -75, move the shadow to +75. Now hold down the shift key and click the word white, then click the word black. This balances the image to a perfect black and perfect white with the tones throughout. this gives you a good base to see what is possible from the image. |

I think you have chosen and framed a beautiful scene and have been very lucky with that sky and the splash of sunlight hitting the village as it has.
But I look at this image and all I want to do is get hold of it and have a play in Luminosity Masks to balance the contrast out. The black for me is so filled in they are spoiling the image and are fighting the brights to much.
So this image needs to either LM from raw file or needs to be 5 images brought together and then oh my would this image pop.
The second image you have posted is much better and for me a much stronger composition as you are not giving the viewer so much to chose to see, I still think that luminosity mask work to balance out those shadows would lift the image. But must have been wonderful to see. |

It does show off the different standards that others live in but the children look just as happy if not more.
The quality is a touch off so you are fighting there but you have all the information to show us the viewer the conditions. I would have liked a touch more on the right so you did not crop that bench off.
Real shame we cannot take these sorts of images in our countries anymore. |

This must have been brilliant to be at, real jealousy coming from here, what is bugging me is the tank, it looks like the front end of a Tiger with 120mm rifled barrel early model, but as far as I am aware there is only two running and neither looks like that, so that is great for me, love to see more of the tank.
The image as a whole has the feel of the waiting for orders that you would get, a real shame that the men are not in tank uniform as that would fit the image, but having the infantrymen as great as they always went with the tank, the one odd paratrooper is a bit of a mismatch but not many would notice. I am not sure you need the tint as the feeling was already there.
I would remove the two items on the wall on the right and the two skylights as none of them would have been there in 1944.
Good image and I would have loved to be there. More tank please. |

You have chosen and produced a lovely image of the lighthouse and its surroundings. For me the detail and the tones are spot on and adding the light is very nice.
But when I look at this I do get the feeling of two halves, I find if I crop half the rock away from the bottom the balance is improved more to my liking. |

I know this is a study group for images to be discussed for there quality and your ability at the time of taking, but owing to the circumstances this is not the place to do that.
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved pet, but you have had 12 wonderful years with her. Having had to do this on quite a few occasions I know how traumatic this can be, so my thoughts are with you both. |
