I do like these window reflection shots from these vast glass builds, it does give you an alternative perspective on the world. They do make great alternative pattern shots so I do wonder if you need that normal reality with the roofs. Your colour version is a touch soft so I wonder if you have pushed the mono one a bit far giving this painterly effect. |

Your idea of viewpoint is good and shows off the three bells well and would work much better with a stronger sky behind it to hold it in place. Sorry, I don't think the softening to the image adds anything to it.

You have done really well to get good eye contact with the old soldier, and what you have done is a great improvement from the colour version. He does have a feeling of sadness which this day had. But for me, I would have loved to see more of a portrait version so that gun that we see the tip comes more into view. Just my taste. |

Oh, this would be a dream for me, one of the most difficult images to take, converging verticles, the light coming from all directions and people getting in your way, then where do you focus. You have done amazingly well with your detail, control of the light, I do have to ask, how low to the floor were you.
I have a tripod that allows me to get the camera to the floor so I can get the best angle possible and many times you will see me lying in the middle of the Cathedral taking a picture.
This does look a wonderful building and you were so lucky to be there at the right time. Those windows are stunning. |

I think this is a pleasing image of the chap in his environment, it has good tones and he has an endearing smile that does draw you in, but I do think the mono image is losing the life and feel of the colour image depicts.
The colour gives you the feeling of the surroundings and makes you come to conclusions about the man that could well be wrong but the picture depicts and that makes the picture works. The mono loses that. |

The detail you have captured on the top of the leaf is very strong and shows off the veins and lines of the leaf. I like the tone you have chosen. It's a real shame you had not to notice that the whole leaf is not focused throughout as that does hurt the balance and I would like to see a stacked version.
There is a gentleman over here on the camera circuit that does these types of images a lot and he does a lot of them with backlighting with some amazing effects. Just an idea for you to play with. |
