33 Apr 19 Comment Yes that works well and has a much more pleasing feel than the original. Apr 19th
33 Apr 19 Comment This has a lot of wonderful set of texture and light and that is what this is all about, mixed with that subtle shades of yellows and greens and browns this turns into a good image. But I think this will be a great print on texture paper. Apr 17th
33 Apr 19 Comment Does tell the story of destruction and the simple image is very powerful, I have to agree that I love it in monochrome.

Congrats on the front page, I had that last year and I know how I felt. Will pop on and view.

33 Apr 19 Comment Shame about the failing farm, seems to be the common story in lots of places. I see a good restoration project for someone. My friend down the road would love that one. Thanks for sharing. Apr 17th
33 Apr 19 Comment Start with the negative, clean you dust spots. One big one dead centre of the sky and lots of little ones.
Very dramatic image that you hold the views eye very well with the foremost buoy, then lead them through with the other buoy's. The tones and detail are spot on for the mood and was well worth braving the conditions. But that seagull is just magic.

33 Apr 19 Comment The two towers do make for a great subject to photograph and the sheep make for a nice foreground. You need to watch you setting so you hold the skies or replace the skies in editing. What is a shame is the right hand side with all those factory units. But if you change position to lose them you then lose those great house in the centre. How goods your Photoshop Work.
Just an idea, have you tried this in mono. His mine with the factory gone.

33 Apr 19 Comment I can only be honest about how I feel about these image, when I opened this one I felt disappointed. Not from the work of the photographer whos has done a great job of capturing the image, good detail and tone and held the snow well, its the shape of the crack, I wish it went straight on as I think it would be a stronger image. Done one to show what I mean. Apr 17th

39 Apr 19 Comment Great move to covert this to monochrome as it gets rid of the horrible colours and allows the tones and texture to come out. I do think you could have got this a tad sharper, maybe stacked the image. Looking at the shape of the tree, I do wonder that if you had moved say a meter to the right you would have got the shape of the tree coming down the left carried on by the foliage at the bottom. Just something to be aware of. Apr 17th
39 Apr 19 Comment Vincent this is a clever idea and you have placed it well in the frame, the minimalism is very pure to its extreme. So it then comes down to the individuals taste, I afraid its not mine. Sorry. Apr 17th
39 Apr 19 Comment Thank you guys, this is why we enter image here, good frank feedback. One for the personnel holiday snap back I think. Apr 17th
39 Apr 19 Comment When I am judging this image would make me hit the five button all day long and would be pulled out for the big awards. It is a simple image that is full of power. That makes a great image. Should do you well if you entrer it anywhere. Apr 17th
39 Apr 19 Comment Another great image from you, shows off the scene well and you have caught the characters just right. The different attitude makes it a great character shot. I also like the small group of people in the background as that makes this image more real and less of a set-up. I do wonder if you could just lift the detail in their faces a touch more. Well done. 39 Apr 19 Comment For an image scanned from a neg this has come out very well and is a very pleasing image of the young lad. The pose is very gentle and I agree you have dug out a couple of good catchlights. If this was mine I would do some work in PS with the tones and textures of the hand has it does not sit well in the image for me. I do think this would sit better as a print. Apr 17th
39 Apr 19 Reply Thank you for your honest thoughts, you see as the author I cannot get past what I saw. That is the sea and those buildings just perched on the edge. Your views are very valid and I agree. Wish I could of gone wider, but white van problems, its always white van problems. In the UK you get lots of white van problems and they do park them in just the wrong places. They are like fly's in the summer, now for a van spray. Apr 2nd
