If that was Devon or Dorset south coast in England that small bit at the front would cost you 4 to 6 million, Would not want to try and put a price on the whole building. It is a very grand building. |

I think that I like this so much better, this leaves room for the tree to breath and grow and the interacting lines at the top works so well. This has now become a very strong picture. Nice one. |

That looks a grand house of hotel to live in. the views must be amazing, must be fun sitting there in a big storm. Your image shows the place of well and has a lovely shape to it with some beautiful light falling across the picture. Nice place to live. |

Where is the film director, where is the screaming female, where is the lightning, horror film setting written all over it. If this was in this country it would have been developed and had two extensions a garage and a garden, but in the USA they leave them for photographers to come along and get great landscapes like this. I am so jealous. |

I only have one question. "Where does that branch line go" Good lines and good tones but at the end of the day it is just some railway lines. Now if you had bought along a maiden and a long piece of rope that could have got the image going. Now there is an idea for an image. |

The foreground of the image is lovely and has some lovely detail and texture. The tree is nicely placed in the frame. The first dune in the background works really well and again has some lovely detail and textures. The far background on the right has some interesting details and waves in the sand but this lefthand side is dominating the image for me and takes the eye away from the rest of the picture.
You can slightly save it with a crop to remove, but you then lose the right hand side. |

I am not going to talk about processing, I am going back to taking the image. You don't mention if this was Tripod mounted on not, your composition is very good and you have placed the point of interest in the correct position, but I can only go by what I can see what is in front of me, the main point of interest need to be pin sharp. For me the main tree is just out of focus, I am getting that the whole image is just that touch out of focus, which says that the camera focused not you. The camera will take the mean and will end up focusing 1 or 2 points off so it ends up in mid air some times.
On YouTube there is a bloke called Simon Baxter who shoots trees and if you look at his images you will see what I mean about pin sharp focus and that should be all our targets as that is the ability of modern camera's.
As for the contrast of the image I think the camera did very well considering the amount of light variation you have.
One small point, when shooting big vistas, you don't need to open your lens to F18 which will be getting to its max abilities when you will get just as good results if not better results at F11, just a point to think of when you are next out there. |

I do have to agree that UK gardens can be magnificent, I have some 20 varieties of Roses in my small plot that I nurture each year to look there best. This is a nice delicate little Rose that with your processing to Mono comes across quite evil in its feeling where the leaves feel decayed. I do wonder why you have placed the image in the bottom of the frame. I do think on this occasion the colour does hold better. |

His face is beautifully taken and he has a lovely inviting smile and good connection with you the taker.
Little thing with his hand and arms, he is holding himself just a touch to tight, if his right arm was a touch more relaxed his body would be much more easy looking.
Your main mistake on the studio side, you are standing your model to close to the background. You need to have at least a meter if not more, buying yourself a big reflector to angle on the opposite side to the main light would lose the shadow. But his face is really lovely. |

I will start with the negative, That black pot like thing on the left is not great and is like a great wall the viewer has to fight around to get to the interesting bits. The items on the right you can live with as they lead you to the subject and set the scene. I like his eyes as they give him a mood that you can get hold of. But the image is made by those two people at the back and I wonder what they ordered. Good social picture. Nice quality to it. |
