You have composed a nice image and have chosen a good timing for the water. I find the image a touch sharp so I wonder if you have over sharpened or over done the dynamics.
What is missing is tonality so I agree with the rest, but you need to be a touch more precise with image like this and use techniques like Luminosity Masking with something like TK panels so you can select all the individual tones and shades of colour to bring the tonality to the exact point of where you want it. Think the image would be worth the effort. It would also be good practice for later images. |

This is wonderful and full of atmosphere and calmness at the same time. The silhouette are beautifully handled and just add to the feeling of peace.
Just one thing I would say, having the tree open in the image does make the viewers eye wonder to the outside of the tree than from the side you want to viewer to look. So this is only a suggestion that cropping down the middle of the tree does make for a nice postcard type image.
But this is an image to print and frame. |

We have a programme over hear called "Top Gear" that is now presented by Matt LeBlanc from Friends. Two weeks ago they did a programme from America deep in the forest and he appeared down a track that looked just like this in a Ford Truck that was the size of a lorry and I look at this and just cannot help but get that image in my head.
The image does show off the rough terrain and the fir forest surrounding it. I like the dyeing branch that just breaks the green. But I am just waiting for the big truck to appear. |

This is brilliant, tells the story of the moment, with the big storm hitting that rickety wall and that flag and pole being defiant in the face of the storm, it has it all even the roughness of the sea itself. Now I like the picture as it is as that bit of wall on the left shows the gap and the wall in slight decay on the other side, so it fulfils the story. I can understand to crop for the pure competition but I think it loses the story of the image. Cracking picture. |

I opened this and new before I read anything this North Norway, so you have captured the image perfectly, these are quite well know pair of cottages and you have done them justice, The lighting has been very friendly to you and has bathed them in a lovely light but placed the mountain in a nice shadow. Well done as this is lovely.

When I opened this image my instant impression was " I want to stay in that house" the view must be amazing. That sky is to die for and you tones are lovely. Just one niggle, the ocean horizon is running down hill and could do with being leveled out. But it is well composed and makes me want to visit here, so the image has done all it is meant to do. |

This is another of those simple images that are always there and most of us just walk past them, but this shows what we are missing as this is full of tones and is very well composed in the frame. The detail is spot on and says to me that we need to look more closely to our surroundings. |

Great story and she is doing well if she is pushing this around at 82. You have captured a nice tranquil scene showing of her and her surroundings, that is one magical smile that says she enjoys her life. Thank you for sharing. |

This is very well produced image with great use of the technique that the iPhone has. It has produced a dramatic movement image that we can produce on an SLR but with a lot of hard work or being night time and I would be surprised if we would get as good a result as this. Great picture. |

Yes you are right this image is full of wonderful light light and shadow that your eyes jumps around the image to view it all, but for me which no one has mentioned is this wonderful pattern holding the image together with all those lovely delicate textures in the. The whole thing then comes together to make a great image. Well spotted and well timed my friend. |

Hi David
What a simple image that most of us would have walked past but I am so glad that you did not. As you have captured an image of delicate tones when you look closely at the light falling across those trees.
The shadows help to fill the white of the snow and I quite like the weeds in the corner as it anchors the image for me. This is a very pleasing image to view. |
