That sky is wonderful and has some beautiful tones, and I like the way you have just given us a glimpse of the vastness of beyond. I think the foreground will hold its own but just needs a touch more work.
In Lightroom singing the adjustment brush, just brighten up the shadow detail so we can see more of those great textures that you would have seen when you were there and I think you would have a winner.
I had a quick go using luminosity mask but you would do much better with the Raw file. |

This is one of those picture that is yelling at me "PRINT ME, PRINT ME BIG."
I can see many things that I could pick holes in but I don't give a dam, I think this is just wonderful and all its foibles and mistakes is its character and what makes this image a winner.
Print it, print it big, Frame it and hang it proud. |

Well for a grab shot that is one impressive shot and one beast of a cloud. You look at that and you think of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and he must have seen something like this to get the idea of how the ships would appear.
Took it and tried it in monochrome and it is not a dynamic as colour. Must have been fantastic to see live. Well done. |

This could have been taking in the low lands of Scotland or South Yorkshire or Mid Wales which have large areas of farm land with then vast areas of Fir and Pine forest on the higher grounds, well maybe not as vast as America and Canada.
You have capture a pleasing scene with some nice lower trees leading to the mid trees which are very well rendered. Your detail seems to be spot on, but the image is being dominated by the colour, specially that green field in the foreground that for me is overpowering everything. Also the sky does not look right. Bring the H&S back a bit for me sorry. |

I am going to comment on your second version not the first as you have now corrected the main issue that everyone will have with the first.
The image overall is fabulous and has some wonderful delicate texture to the petals and has retained the effect of light falling through those petals. The formation and viewpoint you have chosen is also very strong.
To improve and this is just very minor. Get the clone stamp tool, set to a low flow amount, then firstly just tidy up where you removed the leaf, i.e. end of that petal where it has a bright spot. Then the bottom of that leaf at the foot of the image where it seems to be a touch soft.
Lastly, both stem seems to have a lot of blurred ghosting that I find does not suit the image, gently with a clone stamp tool you could loose that and I do believe it would be so worth the effort.
Very nice image though. |

This is one of those pictures you need to sit with for a while and become part of and try and be there. You have capture the atmosphere really very well with some very nice reflection that helps you come into the image to that important little white area on the left mountain with draws the eye but not badly. The sky is very nice, is that another very large mountain just visible through the clouds?. Yes it could do with a very small point of interest on the water for scale, but the picture does hold its own. Now the bad, you need to get your duster out as the are two large dust spots and many fainter ones in the sky. Nice picture. Worth the dusting. |

Are we in need to get some new members for this group as we do seem to be very light. |

Those clouds a so strong and are very well capture, but they don't over power the farm stead and trees which hold there own and the detail you have in the barn is very strong. Normally you go against a fence straight across the bottom of an image but on this occasion this work to hold the image in place. I will let you off the keyline. Very good picture. |

Have to agree the telephoto has produce a nice image with the two items combining well. Shame there is no wispy clouds in the sky to just add that touch more depth to the image. I can to naughty's that you should have spotted. Dust posts are never good. If you are brave and want to swap that sky out to a nice wispy one then you have a winner. |

I would go to You Tube, look up Nick Page who is a very good American photographer and has just done a review of all the Luminosity Mask options out there. I would say Tony Kyper as he is by far the best at it, but there are a couple coming up fast. So I would start there to see which you think would suit your work flow the best. |
