Wow beautiful image Paul. Agree the ladder is an eye sore. Cloning it out would improve this quality image. Very good with nice tonality, depth and compo. Loved it. |

Interesting one Jerry. On first look, this subject is more apt for mono and could show a great variety of tones apart from the rustic look which could be enhanced with texture and a gritty feel. But then I feel it has become too busy and there is loss of grain, though I know it was intentional. Paul's version reduces the complexity and I would still prefer a mono version! |

Interesting image David, I like the way the boats are placed in the frame and creating a good perspective and depth. The details are all there and the eye does move in well and travels from element to element with a connect. I do agree that a mono conversion requires nice separation with the tones and I think when processing a color, using levels is most critical to get good separation. Looking at the color confuses me to think it is better. Still the mono has its own spice. I see Paul's version which for me is a bit tight with the mountain at the edge! With some fine tuning on the variation/play in tones it is a fine piece of work. |
