5 Dec 25 Comment Hi Richard. I like the side-on view as that gives us a good perspective of the costume and the bagpipes. I'd consider cropping to the waist. I know you will lose the kilt but consider whether you want the focus to be more on his face and the bagpipes. I'd also consider darkening down the background a little. Dec 8th
5 Dec 25 Comment Hi Sophia. I like the close crop. It really brings our attention to the Buddhas and the building. It's a clean image. I also like the gold against the green but Pete's black and white conversion is striking. It really simplifies the image even more. Something to think about! Dec 8th
5 Dec 25 Comment Hi Mark. I've been here too! A very interesting place. The black and white conversion has helped bring out the texture in the grass and rocks. I wonder whether cropping out some of that prominent mountain on the left-hand side would help bring the focus even more onto that lovely light. I love the different layers in those mountains in the background. Dec 8th
5 Dec 25 Comment Hi Pete. I enjoyed the composition. It gives us the environmental context of where the image is taken. However I agree with Sophia that you could possibly crop some of it out. Perhaps just include the benches and not the pots and fence at the end. I'd also consider desaturating the background, particularly the greens which feel a little overpowering. The tilt of their heads works well, giving just enough separation between them. Dec 8th
5 Dec 25 Comment Hi Anna. I love your black and white conversion. It definitely gives a more minimalist feel. There doesn't look to be a lot of detail in the rocks and I wonder if you could crop some of the more prominent ones out. This would also simplify the image. I like the wispy clouds. They give some definition to the sky. Dec 8th
5 Dec 25 Comment Hi Natalia. Well done on getting low! It gives us a unique perspective. When I first look at the image, my eye is drawn straight out to the port. If it's the leaves you want the viewer to focus on then consider darkening down the rest of the image and even cropping off some of the top. I do like Pete's version. Even if you didn't want to take it as far, perhaps consider what your image would look like with just the horizontal flip. I think that might help the viewer to see the leaves straight away. Dec 8th
