Thanks, David. Hope I fit in.
I forgot to mention, and it is kind of hard to see in the small version of the original, but the floor was two different pieces of carpet and backdrop, which were not the same texture or color. Fixing that would be additional work that I did not think that particular photo justified. BUT, last night at my local club, we were discussing the pic and the thought occurred: What if that seam in the flooring was turned into a curb, and there was a puddle, and...Hmmm. |

Robert,
I really like the pink theme. It makes the image very distinctive, and likely to stand out. The monochrome version is nice, but the pink says "PICK ME". I can't imagine someone walking through a gallery where it was hanging, and not stopping to take a second look.
As you said, the crop turned an interesting documentary photo into something special. |

Quite a theater entrance, and a very nice capture of it. The colors are vibrant and the exposure is just right. I am not sure the vignette makes it stronger. To me, the whole scene is the subject, and the vignette emphasizes the statue too much for me. Maybe a more subtle vignette?
In the original, I see a blue cast on the doors at the bottom right, most likely caused by a different kind of light source, but it distracts me a little. And, it seems to create a bit of haze on the lower left quarter of the image. Maybe a linear gradient with a little dehaze and warmth would discharge it? |

Very nice transition, David. I like the subtle crop and the dark transition, and how it seems to have elongated the buildings (at least to my eye). I also think the lighting effects are superb, although I agree with the others that the light on the left side building does not enhance the image. I would drop it. Perfectly placed "moonglow" over the corner of the building makes it look like you used Photopills, then waited 4 years, 32 days and six hours to get just the perfect alignment. :>) |
