I like the image. Agree with Dave's suggestion. Crop off some of the bottom to give more emphasis to the clouds. I would also burn down the bottom of the image. That would also give more emphasis to the clouds.
Personally, I do not believe that there can be any B/W image that does not get some dodging and burning to help make the image more acceptable. Jerry |

Fran, It is another great Monument Valley shot. One of my favorite places to shoot. I have images from the Valley in Book written by a famous Historian about the area. They used on image on the cover and the beginning of every chapter. I was all in B/W and about a place they called the John Wayne point.
I think that some of the areas to the right of the totem pole needs a little dodging or in present day terms brightening up. I think that the Totem Pole is too dark, but it may not lighten up?
I love the sky and the shadows in the sand. Seems like you cropped the far right side off in the B/W version as well as the bottom and left side? Jerry |

You probably should of had a white Lind or frame in the B/W? |

I like you image Dave. Like the white border which I forget to use with my image that I sent in to you today. By the size of lens you used, you must have been very close to the island.
I think that a little dodging and burning of the snow and ice on the island would really make this a very stunning image. Over all this is a super image Dave, but need a little help with the island which if the center of attraction. Even though it is blue in the original, the island needs help in the B/W. My opinion. Vincent. The B/W really improved the image. The original seemed to have no clouds. The B/W also brought out more details. Not all images make a great B/W because there are not enough tonalities to make a difference. I think your attempt seems to work. A little dodge and burn may be an option? Jerry |

Kathryn, I also like both images. The removal of color makes for a stronger image. The barks are darker and the whites or bright. I would not have though this particular image would be as strong has what you have accomplished. I would love to hear what all that you did besides convert to a B/W image. Jerry |

Thanks Dick. I do understand the situation. I usually skip the presets and probably should play with them more. Any time we can get interesting things with our iPhones is a plus. Jerry |

Wow! Thanks for sharing Sol. Glad you both are on the mend. Now I know what the signal looks like when you actually have Covid. Carol and I have been able to avoid it so far. We both have enough health issues we are dealing with. |

Love the shot Pam. I agree. When you get a great Sunrise or Sunset image it is something that warms the heart. This image has got to be one of your best. I have to drive for miles to get out of our suburban area and into a open area where you can see the sun go down. You sure had a great location. In fact you have many great location in your area of the west coast. Beautiful and with very little editing. Jerry |

Nice work Bob. I like ICM images and usually have to make many tries to finally get something that I like. It's fin to explore like this with our cellphone and get very artistic results. ICM could be a fun assignment. Jerry |

Great creative work Dick. You actually got an original look that I have never achieved. What of the 28 tools did you use? Where did you find a Peony flower? Mine Peonys are just starting to come up out of the ground. We have so much cold and wet weather in our area near Chicago. Sure hope that the weather starts of feel like May. |

Great shot Dave. I am always trailed to see what you brave folks do while in the blood. Love this shot. It almost looks like the pilot is tripping to burn up the balloon.
I am sure that you got many great images during the flight, but this shot is one for the memory of what is really going on to raise the balloon to new heights. Jerry |
