Larry I love the "Tree" image. The overall quality is outstanding from yuour 12 Pro Max. The B/W tonality is truly what I always want.
My idea is that your tree is second to the far reaching mountains. Had you considered doing a vertical and using the telephoto lens.? I sometimes add the "Moment Top Glass Lens" on to the telephoto and get even closer. Now with the 13 Pro and Pro Max we have a longer lens.
I see this as a Vertical image. That is just me. I do not need the wide black mountains. The clouds are incredible. Even as a horizontal it is outstanding.
Halo issue. The best way to fix is to use Paul's method of using TK's masking.

This is truly a great image and the more I study it, I have a little suggestion. Consider cropping off a little of the top of the image. To me it puts more emphasis on the people carrying those large bags of their belongings. |

I agree with Dave, it is a little dark on the buildings and the street in front. The clouds seem to work. Balance is highlights and shadows is always a tricky call and only you as the maker can decide what you like best. B/W requires a very sensitivity to tonalities. We all know that. Pauls use of TK masks really is the best kept secret of great B/W images.
I have found that sometimes just using Photoshop Camera Raw is the best way to control what i like. It is really powerful and I have moved away from using SEP. |

Very strong image Paul and shooting from a boat really added another challenge. Your dark cloud behind the ferris wheel made the wheel pop out. The sharp building on the right also added a lot to the image. I have never been to the scene but know the area. I get dizzy on those rides and completely stay away from them except to shoot photos. We have a big one in Chicago. Jerry |

I have thought about more contrast but I really kind of like it as is. I had addedcontrast just in the water reflection and though it was enough. I actually added a little softness in some of the white grass areas with reverse clarity. Kind of a little orion effect. To me finding this beautiful scene with a pending storm was just what I wanted. I did not want the storm cloud to be too dark and pull the eye away from the natural grass lines and bending river. I do appreciate the suggestions. Jerry |

This is truly a very strong image Arfan. The really tells a story of what these people are going through just to stay together and survive. Wow!
The quality of the tonality really is super with the bridge and people carrying their belongings. It looks like a mother and her children. This is a human problem around the world with people looking to fine a better and safe way to live a life. Thanks for sharing this image. Jerry

You were really a great distance from the birds and did capture pure solid black birds the sky with a light drifting of clouds. You converted image is beautiful, simple and works. What i like best is minimalist look to the scene. The old KISS idea work for me. Jerry |

I do not know because it actually is probably not considered art or folk art. So many get hung up on feathers, fur and flowers. Photography is more than that.
Copying a painting or another photo to me is a no no! Use my photo if you want and share with your club and see what the response is. I am curious. Jerry |

Great Fall colors Sol. So glad you had your camera with you. This image is a great still life.
About Lens Blur. Go wild! Not really, but keep the blur where ever you want it and go max. Then use the stacks - view edits and only paint with the brush in the layer where you want it. Then if you want more, do the whole process over again. You can really control the amount that your want and where. Writing this out makes it sound like a big thing but it is really a simple process with a lot of control. Jerry |

The Smokies living up to their name. Was this the Hank Erdman trip? I had friend there with Hank, but that was a week ago. Rainy days makes for good light and better colors. You locked out.
I heard the the park was over run with thousands of people (photographers). Hope you had a good time. |

Just a tiny tilt and a very easy fix. Great sky and reflection Dick. What a beautiful setting. This could easily be made into a large image using Gigapixel by Topaz and send off to a big print maker. Would be a great gift for family or friends. |

Beautiful Dave. We have no colors like this in the Chicago area except maybe in some selected Public Parks?
Love the composition and the bend in the river. The stone foreground and the wonderful clouds make this a winner. Put this in your 2022 Gift Calendars.
