Paul, you really caught the mood and essence of the scene. So glad he liked you and what you were doing. I have learned too watch for folks and dogs in country travels. Guard dogs especially. I used to carry pepper spray when I was out riding a bike on country roads and did not know the area.
The upper left corner has a little distraction and could be taken out if you so choose. Love the beautiful misty morning look. |

I agree about the cropped window with the interesting rounded stone and brick and rounded upper part of the window. I really wanted to capture the build date at the top and some of the interesting stone work decorating the top of the building. |

More comments about the image "A Slice of Ligonier, Indiana"
This image was hand held using an iPhone Xs Max. Using a 6mm lens at 1845 of a second. I used Manual focus and exposure to get the best jpeg exposure with the built in iPhone camera. Original file was 2292X3988. Early morning bright light from the East shining on the building. My options were to shoot in RAW or JPEG. I was moving quickly before some one got in the way or traffic started to move. Capturing these pre Civil War building in this Northern Indiana Town with many old business still useable. This building was about 1/2 mile North of the Grand Army of the Republic Highway (Route 6 dedicated to soldiers in the Union Army controlled by President Lincoln). I do plan to go back and capture more of the old original building. |

Using a 50% crop, the image still help up fairly well. Positioning the tree in the final image is always a big decision for me? How much sky? How far to the left to put the tree? Great memory shot. The yellow wild flowers really make the image. |

What a great way to do some traveling and shooting in such a scenic area. A wonderful memory shot to have if you ever return to this area at another time of the year. Even the grey clouds adds textures to the image. |

Great angle for shooting the image. Your lower position near the water gives an excellent position for the bridge to the buildings. Wonderful exposure. I always have trouble on how much of the bottom of the image to include? Your title "Down by the Stream" is good. I can imagine the sounds of the rushing water. So glad that the buildings are being put to good use. |

I like your image Dick and the close cropping helped keep the emphasis on the butterfly and flower. Wonderful colors and you caught the butterfly in an excellent position. Artistic renderings always add to the uniqueness of the image. |

Love this image Dave. Looking out of open windows with a great view. The close up rocks are sharp and the view through the opening is wonderful. The starburst catch light is fitting. How did you add the catch light or was it just there? Great image. This is a keeper. Jerry |
