Great travel photo and it tells a story of people waiting. Love it.
Your conversion is wonderful. The whites are wonderful. For me the story is "Waiting".
I agree with Don Toothacker (The latest webinar that will be put up on the PSA site soon) that B/W images tell a story much better than color images. Jerry |

Steve, In look at the original and see a very flat even lit image. Many times that is what I want before concerting to B/W. If anything, I pump up the colors to give a little more separation of tonality in the converted B/W version.
The sand is not real. In would never know that it was sand. I think each of the three areas should be treated in different layers. Each requires different setting of contrast. |

I like both the original and B/W, but prefer the B/W.
I thought the B/W lost some drama and excitement in various areas. The Hoodoos needs more shadows that were present in the color version. I would want you to consider vignette the edges a little bit. This would work on both images. |

Yes, I like the revision. I also watched the Don Toothaker webinar and was very impressed with his approach to B/W and his results. I would recommend everyone in the group to watch the Webinar when is available to all PSA members on line. (I did one one the iPhone last August). His night images and how he uses color images and boost up the color before converting the images. Also he has 2 cards in his camera. So he shoots B/W jpegs so he can view the B/W image in the LED screen and in the second card he is recording a RAW color image. Angel always went for a good black and good highlights in every image. That is why he developed the Zone System of expose for the shadows and develop for the highlights.
Nice image Vincent. Jerry |

Great tonality Paul. You really know how to use TK's luminosity masking. Incredible structure. I am sure it cane be a busy place in the Summer time. |

An interesting toy lens. Cheap fun. I am sure you will find some more uses for the new tools. Thanks for showing the size and the attaching ring. Almost like a cheap Lensbaby.
Sure like the B/W over the original. |

The beach walkers give a true perspective to the scene that you captured.
I like you, never get tired of a good sunset or sunrise.
Last night I judged my first Zoom digital competition. Only one sunset was as sharp as yours. Guess what, the maker used an iPhone. |

Pamela, I would have never thought of using Painteresque for this effect. Were the locks all laid out on a table, or were you able to do this at the site?
Shooting with a small cellphone does have it's advantages. Jerry |

Nice title and use of saturation. I always ask my self, why did i not also take a closer view of something?
I probably would even crop closer together to the shoe. |

Outstanding image Dick. Your editing and title says it all. I think your extreme cropping makes this image. You picked the best part and used the good editing skills for a very meaningful and timely photo. |

Very nice Dave. Sure glad you did not let a rain stop you from getting this neat image. I like the wonderful foreground. I have found that using the regular iPHONE lens or even the new 11 Pro super wide lens that getting up and close to a foreground object and aiming the camera down about 45 degrees you get a real neat effect.
I love fog. It simplifies the background in your image. One little spot on the left edge distracts my eye. I would think about using Touch/Retouch and clone in some vegetation or just crop it off.
I need to keep reminding my self, that some of my best photos are in the worst weather conditions. |
