Lois, your original image is outstanding except for the extreme brightness of the window. I like the texture you put on the window in the B/W version.
I think what I really like about the original is the very simple image. I do not need all the details of the final image. The original has more mystery and makes me add in the placement of what is in the stall.
I guess I am distracted by some of the details that you reveal and the original image is so strong. B/W is great for this image. Jerry |

Vincent, Love this image. Paul's skills with Luminosity masks would add a few parts that are important to me. I love the shadow of the dancer on the floor of the stage. I do not really know how to do Luminosity but it could be accomplished also by using a radial graduated filter found in Adobe Camera RAW or Lightroom. I bought a little ebook from Tony Sweet and he uses this all the time and it works great on B/W especially. When dodging and burning areas, I make a new layer for each area that I do this. There is a certain amount of edge fading that you really cannot see the edges of the effect. Try it, you may like it. Jerry |

Paul, I love your images in B/W.
One idea would be to crop off some of the bottom and right side. You do not have to show the full fence post. Here is my thought.
By doing this suggested crop, my eyes follow the path on the right as you intended. Then my eyes go to the tree and then to exciting areas to the right. Somehow the cropping makes for a stronger and simpler image for me. Jerry |

Paul, I guess I liked the ferns and how they glowed that I really did not think how they pulled the eyes to the edge of the image. And that is what they do. I do agree with your assessment now that I stand back and look at it.
I had a little trouble with the trees in the background and what you found was a little cover up of something that I did not like? You have very sharp eyes. Jerry |

Arian, this is a hard image for me to deal with. The cloud is the highlight and the mountain is great. It is very complex for my enjoyment. I am wondering if you cut off vertically almost 1/2 of the right side of the image. You would end up with the cloud hanging between 2 mountain ridges. If one never see's the peal of the big mountain they can enjoy the cloud hanging there.
Simplify the image some how. My humble opinion. Jerry |

I really like the B/W version. With the shutter speed, I assume that the camera was hand held. No problem. That ant will not stop moving or you could have done a focus stacking attempt. I have no issue wit the soft focus areas. I love the glow that the B/W image has. This could be a study of insects in B/W with that same glow that your getting.
Love it. Jerry |

The best camera is the one that is with you! We are photographers with more than one camera, but our Mobile photography has made everyone better photographers by taking more photos everyday. This is a great example of out walking and whipping out our cell phone and getting the image. I like your final image as is.
In June I spent 2 days with Tony Sweet and last Saturday another day with Tony. These were planned workshops and shoots. This last workshop he said there are "No Rules in Art". That is what he lives by. There are things that make photos better as well as art, but no rules. If one is going to put photos in competition then you have to follow the rules of the competitions. I am so glad that all of us seem to enjoy the creative side of photography and not worry about if it is acceptable by rules of a competition or contest. Jerry |

What a great find to photograph. The shape and colors are outstanding. I am sure that you captured many images of the bus and finding which image to edit and share had to be hard.
Organizing one's image into a finished photo to share is always an interesting part of our efforts. This bus door really has my interest. I always look first and then read about the image. My first thought when I saw the image that it was from an old retro type of camper. Old buses, cars, trucks and other vehicles have many possibilities. Love the image. |

Lynn, it is really amazing how nature's colors are so brilliant and also how close the colors of the male Gold Finch is so close to the flowers. A good title would be "Hidden".
The quality is wonderful. Did you have a built in telephoto lens on the Galaxy? If not, you are so lucky to have a few seconds to capture the bird. |

I like your mystery effect. It almost looked like you used a texture on the photograph? This is an image that causes one to think about what is there and why. I agree with Dave. The simple subject is wonderful. |

Phillips, you fixed an image after the fact. I usually do a motion blur by swiping from vertical or horizontal while shooting. The motion blur worked great. I really have never tried it with SuperimposeX. Colors? What ever floats your boat. I like both and you could print out both for the location of the image in a setting needing some color. This image is one you never tire of. Now with Topax A.I Gigapixel program, you could have it printed out at almost any size you want without losing the beautiful effect.
I also love the simplistic look that yuou got. Right on! Jerry |

Dave, I am sorry for my late comments. I had a serious accident while in Indiana. Fell on a concrete step with my camera and landed on my shoulder. Went to a local hospital the next day and nothing was broken but the pain was great. Went to an orthopedic doctor back in Illinois and no surgery was needed but a lot of physical therapists are working on me since July. I have not used pain meds for weeks but I have regained most of the movement of my right shoulder and arm. Now I can get out and shoot again. I like your image as cropped and a little more details in the ship. Very strong image for me. |
