Kenneth - I agree with Rick regarding the very bottom of the image. The tops of the trees are an unnecessary distraction and should be cropped out if you can. I might also play with a square crop with the pole in the center of that crop...maybe. One of my favorite parts of the image is the pole's shadow. It being diagonal is a nice contrast to the rest of the image. It's a shame that the subjects head comes in contact wit the shadow, had there been any space between the subjects head and the shadow would have worked a bit better imo. Fun image through. |

Viren - I would agree with Rick's assessment regarding a slight crop on the left hand side in order to tweak the balance laterally. As for the top, I would mirror the space you gave at the bottom of the circle, I don't think more than that is required. That all said, I love this image. Really well done. The contrast you went with accentuates the graphical nature of the composition. |

Rick - I am always drawn to reflections in architectural images, and this is no exception. I might eliminate the distractions in the image. For me, that would be the three light bulbs that are coming through the image. I might review the color balance too, that's always a tough one imo. Thanks for sharing. |

Robert - Your instinct regarding the foreground being "messy" is probably pretty accurate. There also, isn't enough interest in the foreground to make this work as well as it could have if there was something of note in the shot. Additionally, the luminosity in the foreground draws the eye away from the most interesting aspect of the image, which is the mountain range. I also rather like the darker treatment of the right side, and doing the same to the first third or so to the left side would balance the image. Lastly, I would consider a pano crop eliminating the bottom two thirds of the image. |
