33 Jul 25 Comment Hello Arief, thanks for sharing the picture of this peaceful scene. The blend of sky, a grassy hill with trees, a building, and the reflection of all the above in the water is a nice composition. Love the formation of clouds, forming a "halo" above the building. I like the small building just left of center between the trees; a nice counterpoint to the larger building.

Some thoughts:
- I'd like to see just a little more detail in the shadows under the trees on the left, and also in the reflections in the water.
- For next time: consider including more detail in the reflections in the water by zooming out or stepping back to include the tops of the trees/building (making the image more symmetrical, top-to-bottom). Alternatively, consider slightly cropping the bottom so that less detail is seen in the reflection (thus, calling more attention to the scene above).

33 Jul 25 Comment Hello Francois, this is a lovely image of a very dramatic tree - that is quite a specimen! The subject is nicely distinguished from the background, and the reflection in the water is a nice feature. I love the cool blue hues of the sky, a wonderful complement to the warm hues of the tree and the ground around it.

Some ithoughts:
- there is quite a bit of foreground (the gray area in front of the water). I might - suggest cropping up from the bottom to help bring the viewer's attention to the tree and its reflection.
- perhaps also consider brightening the tree's shadow in the water, to also help draw the viewer's attention to your subject.

Would love to know where this picture was taken!

33 Jul 25 Comment Hello Nanette, congratulations on making such a striking urban scape! I love the leading line of the walkway by what I assume is a bridge. The star flares of the lights are a wonderful feature. The shadow detail is well rendered, to give the viewer a definite sense of the place.

Some thoughts:
- The neon(?) lights on the right upper portion of the frame tend to draw my eye to that space; your might consider lowering the brightness of that area.
- In the lower left quadrant, the bridge girder below the star-flared light is well-illuminated, and I find my eye drawn to that area; You might try lowering the brightness of that area, to help keep the viewer's attention on what I think is your subject - the pedestrian walkway and the wonderful star-flare lights above it.

33 Jul 25 Comment Hello Paul, an impressive view of the forested ridge and slope - love the single tower/building "crowing" the ridge line. The clouds add drama. There is a wide tonal range (lights-to-darks), which makes a nice monochromatic composition. The arched bridge over the water is a nice foundation for your composition.

Some thoughts:
I find eye switching from the ridge line near the top to the arched bridge down below. That is fine, but I think it might be better if one or the other was more dominant. Consider either cropping from the bottom to eliminate the bridge (thus bringing attention to the ridge line) or cropping from the top (calling attention to the bridge). (Or make two images - one of the ridge line and one of the bridge - !)
- I'd like to see more shadow detail in the trees; perhaps just slightly brightening the shadows would make your already-wonderful image even more wonderful!
