Thanks, everyone, for your kind praise. The pavement grid intrigued me, and I spent a half hour shooting pedestrians as they crossed, and then the magic happened. This received an acceptance in the 2023 PSA competition. |

Great intensity. I might suggest a slight vignette to further emphasize the concentration, but I'm just a vignette kind of guy. |

David, I just love the use of complementary colors here. It's a very calming soothing image and the incongruity of the upturned umbrella adds a whimsical touch. |

I think the answer to the rules question here s that it is entered in a Travel competition, no cloning is allowed. If it rntered in an Open Color competition, most retiuching is allowed.

Stephen,
I think you got the shutter speed just right here. The motion blur on the pedestrians is not too objectionable, and the motion in the clouds and the waves is just superb. You also did a great job with the image tonalitty. |

OK, I've been fooling around with the Beta version of Photoshop for two months now. The Beta version included Generative Fill and Generative Expand, which allows you move the image around and create new detail. Since the PS update released today incorporates these features in a production version I used it to move the subject tto a spot that matches the rule of thirds. Generative expand allowed to create detail on the left side of the frame. Then added a vignette to darken the edges, which keeps the viewer's eye in the frame. |
