49 Mar 23 Comment A very interesting subject, but I'd like a wider angle that shows a little more context. Since you processed in lightroom, I would suggest that you increase the texture and vibrance a bit to "pump up" (pun intended) the image. It would probably be a good ideea to correct the verticals. 49 Mar 23 Reply Another piece of advice - when I shoot wildlife, I shoot dozens of shots - those guys move fast!

49 Mar 23 Comment I remember the Willard quite well from 30 years ago. When we were dating, my wife and I both worked near the White House in different offices. We'd often walk up Pennsylvania to the Capital, then come back for dinner or drinks at Old Ebbitts. The park was not as skateboard friendly then. I think the B & W version captures the urban vibe better, and I would tone down the background rather than drop it out completely. Mar 14th
49 Mar 23 Comment There is a randomness to the composition which troubles me a bit, but it is an excellent effort. Do you think you'll put it in a competition? Mar 12th
49 Mar 23 Comment Good use of the sharpening tool and masks. Mar 12th
49 Mar 23 Reply There was a an attempt to darken the trees in the background. Mar 12th
49 Mar 23 Reply Yes, the image is more about the stars, hence the title. The image was pretty much a throwaway before I saw the specular hair highlights, so I went for the star filter. I'm not sure I would consider 1/200 sec, as a slow shutter, so I'll chalk it up to model movement as she flipped her hair. The big no-no to me is the trees growing out of her head, not the movement. 49 Mar 23 Comment JoAnn you've kept the tonality in a nice range. As far as the focus problem, you may want to set your camera to "Continuous Autofocus" to help with moving subjects. Here's a video on Canon focus mode sttings the may be helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCsiE6jrG5A Mar 12th
