Hi Ella - What a beautiful low-key image of the ballerina! You have superbly captured the ballet lines that convey the fluidity, artistry and form. The soft side-light illuminating the ballerina is also really well-exposed. And the blurry tassels gives it a sense of motion.
It was so nice to meet you at the PSA festival. Hope to see you again next year! Best regards. |

Beautiful black and white images of the Western Sea Canyon and of the Black Mountain. The black and white treatment brings out a lot of detail in the mountains. They are well composed with a rich foreground and an interesting background. The mist adds mystery and drama to the image. |

Nice reflection image of the mountain range and foliage. The dark early morning light, along with the mist and the dark clouds give it a very dramatic moody feeling. The side light on the mountains also adds to the drama. The vanishing point in the left third makes the image more interesting. I would have liked to see the mountains be more prominent, either with a longer lens or cropping it a little, but that's just my preference. A beautiful and well captured image. |

I love the color and composition in this image. There is a nice foreground, middle ground and background in the image, which gives it a lot of depth. The long shadows on the mountains bring out the details and the nice grouping of clouds on the right nicely balance it out, at the same time giving it some drama. Like Tom said, the valley does lead the eye towards the mountains. |

I really like the long exposure used in this photo to get the silky water and the blurry spokes of the turning water wheel. The soft light and the subtle HDR quality gives the image an a bit of the painterly effect. I actually do not mind the tree as much, I think it gives a little foreground and adds depth to the image. However, I think the tree in the center of the picture draws the eye away as we go from the brightest part of the image (the silky water) towards the blurry water wheel. I wonder if placing the tree on the right side might make it less of a distraction. Although, I can see how you will not get the same composition with the water and the wheel if you had shifted to the left. Overall, an excellent image. It evokes a very serene and tranquil atmosphere. |
