Really nice shot of mom and chicks. You have left just enough space in front of the bird for it to swim into. Very nice. If you could have gotten lower to be more at eye level with the bird it would have been great. The one baby chick might have been looking at you directly. Perhaps you might try darkening the background water. Punching up the eye color a bit always adds impact. Special shot! |

I prefer these shots where we see the bird involved in an life activity. Whites well done, background appropriately blurred and dark. I think if you were able to saturate the eye color a bit it would give the image more impact. Well done! |

Glad to see you also included the reflection. Wood ducks are one of my favorite bird subjects. Perhaps a little more saturation would be nice to show off the vibrant colors. If possible try to shoot animals at eye level .. try to be at their level as much as possible. When feasible stepping back and using a longer lens can help reduce the angle some.

The light shinning thru the wings is nice and catching one of its eyes while in flight helps the image. I wonder where they tuck their feet away. |

Good image of competition between species. It is a little difficult to separate the vultures tugging from all the other vultures. Unfortunately it appears the tugging vultures are hidden behind another vulture so that we only see a portion of them. The stork is excellent getting it stretched out and obviously struggling for its claim. A good documentary shot of their struggle. The technical aspects of composition and focus good but maybe I would like to have seen just a little more water and a little more background above the storks wings .. not much but a bit more. |

Tells a story. Very nicely composed. Depth of field is perfect blurring the background but still giving a since of place. Exposure is good with texture in the whites. I would have brighten the eye of the adult and removed a couple of distracting spots on the chick and background. Nice capture. |
