Denise, a beautiful image! If I would suggest an edit, it would be to darken the background a bit more if possible, although it does add some texture to the photo. |

Great composition and lighting of the flower, with one nearly open and the other just beginning to blossom! Beautiful detail captured in the petals. (You probably could easily turn this into a still life photo with a textured background.) Agree with other re: more space on the right. I also wonder how it would look if subdued or reflected light was also added on the right to bring out a bit more of the shadows, although I am not sure it would add to the photo. |

Maria, this is beautifully composed close-up shot. The angle of the 'stalks', especially the two intertwined held together by a raindrop, is very appealing. If I were to edit, I would crop in from both sides to remove the stone on the lower right and some of the stone on the left. I might also try to blur the background a bit more, if possible. As a fan of macro, I am wondering what the approximate size of the stalks are? Also, did you use in camera focus bracketing or do it manually? (The Canon 100mm macro lens is my favorite.) Again, beautiful composition! |
