I appreciate the input. I will try some tighter cropping on my upcoming images and see how it changes the effect of the shot. Great feedback. Looking forward to being a member of the group and contributing!

12 May 25 Reply I really appreciate the cropping idea. It does take on a whole different feeling when you apply the new framing. Thanks for taking the time to add your touches Carole! Food for thought on my upcoming themes. May 20th

Really cool capture. I love how close to the pineapple you are. The powdered sugar on top of the raspberries and the mint is a nice touch.

This picture has a really good pop of colors. I like the details that you were able to capture of the pineapple.

Only CC I would say is potentially opening up the aperture just a teeny tiny little bit to still have some of the nice bokeh in the background but get just a little bit more detail. Overall a really cool idea and good pic.

Wonder what other surprises you have in store for the group upcoming. Can't wait.

Very cool capture of an image. I love chess myself and seeing this with the overcast sky in the background makes you consider wrapping up with a blanket and having a warm fire crackling somewhere in the background.

I enjoy the angle of the chessboard and the fact that it is not completely centered in the scene. It really adds to the interest of the picture, such as where are the players? Did something happen and they had to suddenly rush away? Or is this an ongoing game that is being played long distance by some very old friends.

As far as CC my only very minor comment would be that I would have liked if the cord for the blinds could have been pulled out of the shot. I felt it was just a little distracting, but a very very minor note.

On to next month. I hope you have many more delightful pictures in store for us upcoming.

What a great idea for your still life image. I was amazed at the creativity that was involved in thinking this through and how you could achieve the thought to fruition.

It is a good use of color. You did a good job picking out the different colors and arranging the flowers so they were visually appealing.

For CC my only thought was would it have been more powerful if you had reduced the number of leaves. Perhaps left a little more negative space on the sides so it didn't fill in the frame so much. That is a very minor detail as overall this is a great picture.

I am excited to see what you have in store for next month.

Super cool picture. I love the creativity. The composition is well thought out and I do like how the tail feathers in the background are a little bit out of focus. I believe this adds importance to the view of making the birds prominent.

I was torn on the leaf in the second birds mouth at first though I was wondering if it was removed how the picture would have turned out. The longer I looked at it the more I thought that it was the right decision.

Great job! Keep up the good work. Excited to see what you have in store for next month.

This is a very well done picture. I love the theme of music and dance. It is such a great theme. With a background in playing violin during much of my youth I find this picture very interesting.

The placement of the items was well thought out and the lighting is very good. I like the composition that you chose.

My only cc for this image goes along with some of the previous posts, but mine would be specific with the blue music note sheet. I would have like it to be ironed or steamed to remove the wrinkles. IMO that would have presented a more cohesive image.

Overall this is really great though. I look forward to next month to see what you come up with.

Very creative idea for your project. I was impressed with your methodology for lighting and how you were able to achieve an almost studio look with it. It is amazing how sometimes the best ideas tend to be the simplest implementation.

I like that you picked subject matter that was not typical to the still life photography genre and were able to be successful with it. This picture really reminds me a great deal of my late grandmother who was an avid crocheter.

As far as cc I would say the only comment I had was that it would have been nice to have the side loop edges completed, though I realize it was not done in it's entirety. I think if you would have kept the loops at the top but crocheted in the ones on the side it would have served the picture better IMO.

Keep up the great work and I am excited to see what you tackle with next months theme!
