78 Jul 25 Comment It might be that I know the area and love it's beauty but I miss the canola after the crop. Jul 26th
78 Jul 25 Reply Brenda - Thanks for the info. I checked out Eric's courses and will be taking them. The remote release I had didn't work with my camera so had to press the button. I did set the timer to a 2 second delay so thought that might have worked but apparently not. The instructor may not have heard me or thought I said the stabilizer was off even though it was on - most of the work I do is handheld. I'm really not much of a night photographer so this is all new to me. Jul 20th
78 Jul 25 Reply Thanks Ed. I've taken your suggestions and applied to my photo. It's not quite the same as yours but the stars are easier to see and I was able to keep the sky reflecting the setting sun. We did go out for a full nighttime shot but the sky wasn't clear that night. Hoping the sky at the end of the month here in Idaho is clear so I can try again. Jul 13th
78 Jul 25 Reply Thanks. Will try it off and on at the next shoot.

78 Jul 25 Reply Thank you! I did take some at ISO 6400 but haven't gotten to them yet in processing. This one was done in a bit of a hurry as I was late getting this month's image to Brenda - who I'm sure would have waited another day but... I do think image stabilization was on as that is what the workshop leader said to do and as this was my first attempt at Milky Way I followed his recommendations. With that said there is another opportunity at the end of this month here in Idaho for good Milky Way photography so will try again with your suggestions.

When I get to the other images with higher ISO I will post an update.

78 Jul 25 Comment This is a nice pleasant setting. Like Brenda I feel like something is missing but nothing you can do about it as the leading lines in the image go to a bland white building. I wish there had been something in front of the building or the street led to the church behind the building. Overall though a very pleasant serene image. Love the colors as they are. Jul 6th
78 Jul 25 Comment I agree with the others about the fresh feeling but would like to see some of the tree trunks darker. My eye kept going back to the lighter tree trunk rather than following the trunks up to the sky. Jul 6th
78 Jul 25 Comment I like it - to me it shows action but a bit of dust and smoke might help. Blurring just the wheels might help but then as Robert and Ed said you'd need to do something about the cycle and rider as well. Jul 6th
78 Jul 25 Comment Really like the crop you gave the image. I find the candles in the revision a bit too bright - the original looks more "real" to me. Jul 6th
78 Jul 25 Comment Very nice composition. I do find it a bit heavy on the right side due to the brightness of the building. Love the reflections, the people and the clouds. Jul 6th
78 Jul 25 Comment I think I know right where you were when you took this photo. I agree that the right side of the image could be cropped a bit as the right hill doesn't add much to the scene. Also, the barn is slanting slightly. I might also bring out the clouds a bit more as they get lost in the beauty of the canola. Jul 6th
