Hi Joan,
I am visiting from Group 82, but I enjoy looking at the images in other groups and took notice of your image as I use this technique quite a bit myself. You have made a beautiful background for your lion and, as others have pointed out, it is difficult to blend subjects in so that they look natural. I use somewhat the same technique, but I have found that the selection tool is much too coarse without a lot of additional brushing. Another thing you can do is apply a gaussian blur to the mask to soften it a bit. Additionally with fur, sometimes it is necessary to paint in the wisps. I purchase licenses for my backgrounds through dailytexture.com. There are tutorials there that are free as well. I hope you don't mind my visit, but I wanted to encourage your interest in this technique. It's great fun and can result in some stunning art!

Ruth, Thanks so much for your visit and comments! A moose trek or two to the Bighorn Mountains each year is a must for me. I love your moose photo taken in the Tetons; a great classic photo! |

Gorgeous scene. As Laurie said, it is very eye-catching with the contrasting cool and warm tones.
I like the way the street leads into the scene, but I found the grates a bit distracting and don't mind the change in composition when cropping just behind the grates. |

This is a wonderful shot Kathleen. I thought at first the three men were engaged in conversation, but now that I look at it again, the man in white seems to be looking beyond the man talking. I agree that the cigarette smoke definitely draws the eye and the Coca-Cola inspired table gives it an international flavor. Your white balance seems spot on and allows the colors to appear very natural. |

Laurie and Narasimhan,
Thank you so much for your comments! I used generative fill to add a little more room behind the baby. It did an okay job and definitely improved the composition. I was surprised how much!
Laurie, when I lifted the exposure, I started getting some clipping, but I was able to use an auto-curves adjustment that lifted it somewhat.. I believe just in the midtones.
I was trying to add content credentials to imbed the AI disclosure into the exported jpeg, but I didn't get it done as it had not been turned on prior to doing the fill. I did find out though that this apparently uses allowable credits included with my Adobe account. If I have to start paying more at some point, my account options will definitely have to change. |

Laurie, the black and white really shows off the symmetry and the architecture in my opinion. I think adding some contrast, perhaps with a curves adjustment, would really make it pop. Great photo! |

Narasimhan, what an amazing image! How in the world were you able to find this frog in the dark? If I have the right specimen identified, it is only about 2 inches in length! The eyes are fascinating and the capture is fabulous. Fantastic job, I don't know how it could be more perfect. Thank you for sharing! |
