Thank you for clarifying, Kathleen. I'm glad she was happily eating with others. Too often we see the elderly alone. I understand your wish not to be disrespectful. The way you handled it is something I can learn from. |

Thank you Kathleen! What are the chances of catching them this way? I feel very fortunate! |

Harrison, these are indeed beautiful. When I lived back East, I enjoyed the Cherry blossoms very much. I can almost smell the aroma! I would be like you.. looking for a unique angle to present.. but what you have done is very nice.
I would be tempted to crop the left side and let the branches of the middle tree carry the composition. The light makes me wonder if this capture was midday and what the scene would look like in more muted light. I can imagine a scene that invites relaxing under the tree in shade. I don't know if it would be possible to adjust the exposure and highlights and decrease the clarity to accomplish a softer scene, but I would be tempted to try.
In any case, this is very nicely done! |

Wow! What a capture!! The timing and detail in this image are amazing! Perfect blend of clarity and background blur to separate the subject.. I assume captured in-camera. Colors, light, focus and everything about this image is just beautiful! |

Kathleen, the more I look at your image, the more questions I have.. so I would deem this a very successful click. Part of my wonder is whether you took this picture because it represents a cultural norm, or was it more because of the specific plight of this elderly woman? At first glance, I thought she may be homeless, but it appears that her toenails are manicured. I would be interested in more of the scene that surrounds her.. is she seated in front of a residence, a market, an empty building, etc.? Kudos to you for getting her photo.. I find that I am very shy about doing that without express permission. I don't think your photo needs any processing.. it looks great as is. |
