I agree with Mark. The original picture is very nice. I would like to blur background little bit, enhance color of lotus like you did and apply "oil painting effect" on the background not lotus. I would use f/5.6 or little bit larger aperture and focus on only one lotus in the front. I will be confused because which lotus is the main subject that the author wants to emphasize if all three lotus flowers are sharp. |

Thank you for your suggestion. This version to me is little bit over sharpness or clarity. It showed on hair and some wrinkles. I am not sure if the "catchlights" or bright dots on both eyes are OK due to light position set up. The original pic was taken for low key setting; therefor, there is no need to show everything except what we want to show according to lighting position. |

Even flash was allowed, I would not use it in this case. I would like to trim off the crowd at the bottom of this picture because it would not help for composition. Instead, concentrate on the main subject. |
