Thank you, Trey, very kind of you.
I will consider carrying a filter package (one that is adjustable) in my bag. I usually carry as little as possible when walking on the street. My back is not what it used to be... ???? |

Hi Tom. The crop works, but I think it is better in Trey's suggestion. A tight crop as I suggested does not work as well... also, the Sepia does do the image justice. I think B&W would do better job.???? |

Good morning, Tom. My apologies for the late comment to your wonderful and interesting image.
I am particularly drawn to "corner" sets; in my view, these provide opportunities to capture interactions, stories and moments in life. You saw that and captured it.
Your image shows the traditional and modern way of life. Crossing paths, each doing their thing in harmony. Some carry phones, others touch drums to communicate.
Asian colours and architecture take all in as the norm. Captivating colours and details that, when lit by sunlight at the right angle, provide the final visual touch to the frame.
Well done, Tom. I believe that using full colours on your image is the correct choice. However, I am intrigued by Trey's suggestion of B&W or maybe Sepia.
Congratulations, Tom.
P.S., If you have an image you took or cropped that provides a close look of a small group or individual juxtaposed with a temple, I would like to see it.

Marevi, this is a well-composed and processed image. It shows the environment and the dynamics within the group of kids committed to the game and aspiring to be the best footballers.
Technically, I would bring out the subjects, especially the two youngsters facing each other and see what the results will be.
Well done. |

Street markets are great; they tell many stories, some happy and others not.
I like your image; it is a good "establishing shot" that presents the street market.
I think that to get more of that story, maybe you could concentrate on each of the parts in that street market. At the centre of your image is a stall showing many items, and the owner sits there seemingly relaxed and waiting. Therefore, if it were me, I would crop to the left and right of that stall and see what would whisper to me. Just an idea, |

Sometimes we need to be greedy!
I understand well that moment when one has to decide to release the shutter or lose it... That call for "action" goes against what I learned and practiced - take the time, wait.
Good work. |

A very kind, thoughtful and comprehensive critique. Thank you very much.
Your critique is one of the best, if not the best, I have ever received on my work. Very well written, brings the image to life.
Thank you again. |

Hi Gerhard, that is it, right? Telling a story and leaving something for the imagination to wonder.
Thank you. |

Good luck with your shopping, I hope it is exciting.
The 2 men were bargaining, and in my camera eye, their expressions conveyed their intensity as they tried to convince the stall owner to lower prices. Not showing the owner augmented that intensity, curiosity (I think).
This was a moment when the image appeared while I was trying to position myself between the clutter of mannequins, carts and other furniture. It was almost like a "point-and-shoot" instant.
Thank you.

Hi Stephen, thank you for your input. Yes, the two men are negotiating the purchase of women's dresses in bulk (100s of dresses). They drive back to their towns and their shops.
I understand your point, but in fact, I thought leaving the 3rd person out of the frame would enhance the intrigue in the situation.
Thank you. |

Martin, you got it, the sense of chaos, the cutter, was one of the feelings I was trying to convey. When I visit this market, I think about how people can do business among all the noise and rushing. The market is open in the morning only. Parking the tier vans/trucks costs a pretty penny, and vendors try to do their business in half a day to save money. Thank you. |

I think both versions work. Interesting story, and in fact, the colour may work better if you waited a second. The juxtaposition and colour matching between the car and flags could be fascinating. Regardless, I like the image as it is. |

I like your image. It is on the right side of subdued, and by that I mean it flows easily. The SALE sign supports your story. Good story, colours and corner images are always intriguing. I also like that cropping; it eliminates the distraction. However, the eliminated reflections did not bother me; I would have left them in. Good work. |
