I think this is a lovely capture with very nice light. Idealy, his eyes would be open. I cropped it, toned down the green in the background and increased the saturation and contrast. |

I like the painterly treatment of this owl, the highlights in his eyes and how he is checking you out. For me, he is the subject and could be cropped much more tightly. I also darkened the sky in the background and removed the branch on the lower right. |

I agree that the softness on the sides distracts from the story which is action. |

I like the panoramic and antique treatment. The cowboys on bot sides seem a bit soft. For me, it would be more effective with a tighter crop. But that is my taste. I do like the story telling aspect of bigger image. I also tried it in dark sepia. |

I think that you have captured the dramatic and dynamic sunset. For me, the almost black foreground is distracting. You could crop most of it out or use a curves adjustment to bring out more detail. |
