Thanks Marge. The settings I used are 1/10 at ISO 100. I moved the camera to the right. I use different camera movements. I move it to the right, then the left, up, down and zoom in and out after focusing on the subject. It is different every time. |

Kudos for your work. I like the foreground and the colors in your finished image. I have never tried this. I like the composition. I think that straightening the horizon would be a plus. I cropped a bit, used a gradient and curves adjustment on the original. For me, the interesting thing is all the possibilities there are for editing. |

Thanks Lance, I really appreciate your feedback and suggestions. I will give them a go. For me, the more points of views and perspectives the merrier. I am more than happy that my image received so many different reactions and interpretations. |

I think you have a good point. Lance took the diagonal and did some nice work with it. |

I think this is a beautiful seascape and story telling image. For me, it is more of the story of a ship heading out to sea rather than a ship leaving a port. I cropped to a panorama, added more space on the left and removed some from the right, increased the warmth and brightened the ship and the lighthouse. Think of this as an alternate approach not as a criticism. |

Welcome back. A good capture and story telling image with nice color and details. I would like the face a bit brighter, less of a vignette and I don't think you need such a big white border or even one at all. |

A great capture and fantastic processing. I cropped a bit and darkened some of the bright areas even more. |

Gabriele, I appreciate your honesty. Different strokes for different folks. This image is an abstract image and is a category of images found in international photo competitions such as the Spyder Awards and Black and International Color Awards. It could be considered an example of altered reality although it was made using the camera not photoshop. It isn't digital art. The only use of photoshop was to make a copy of one half and flip it. That technique is often used to create a reflection in water. It received a 9 (honorable mention) in my clubs BW category which permits creative images. |
