I like what you are doing. I like how the flowers frame the hummingbird. For me, the background takes away from the subject. I think that you need a telephoto lens to capture this guy. I cropped it, darkened and blurred the background a bit to draw attention to the bird. |

I like your soft dreamy approach. In my experience, viewers expect tack sharpness when capturing images of flowers and insects. I used Nik Viveza to sharpen the spider. I also cropped, darkened and flipped the image to draw attention to the spider. I also used content aware fill to remove the white spot at the end of one of his legs. |

Here it is toned down. I don't think it has the impact or interest of the original. However, it is subjective. |

I appreciate all the comments and feedback. I will upload the original image. I know the magenta clashes. I think the tile explains why. |

I'm glad that you liked my suggestions. I don't believe that the eye sees what the camera sees. For me, the challenge is to get the viewer to experience what you felt and saw that inspired you to capture the image, and that almost always requires some post processing work. |

I like both of your images. I think the colors and details are well done. For me, a tighter crop and bringing out more details in the dark areas would increase the impact and interest. |

I like the story. I think that if you used a gradient to create a more more twilight feeling, cropped a bit tighter, removed the lights on the bottom and used a stroke it would be even more evocative. |

I like the color palliate and the painterly effects. I think that increasing the contrast and a vignette could increase the impact. |

I think this is a very clever image. For me, a tighter crop, toning down the bright area, softening the edges of the girl would make it even better. |

I understand what you are saying. For me, it is the magenta colors descending to the land and waterway that that takes you to the foregound. |
