37 Jan 26 Reply Peter, Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback. I appreciate your suggestions about lowering the camera position and adjusting the highlights and shadows - they're great points and something I'll definitely consider for future shots. Jan 30th
37 Jan 26 Comment Manas, This is a very atmospheric image with a strong, foreboding mood that fits Loch Ness beautifully. The muted colors and deep depth of field work well together to pull the viewer into the scene. A slight crop from the foreground and a small adjustment to leveling or darker areas could further refine the composition, but overall it's a captivating and well-seen photograph. Jan 21st
37 Jan 26 Comment Ricarda, This is a delicate and visually pleasing floral image with rich color and fine detail. The contrast between the deep red rose and the soft green background draws the eye naturally to the subject. Using a longer lens was a smart choice and worked well in creating separation and softness in the background. A slightly tighter crop on the right side could further strengthen the composition, but the image already conveys elegance and a calm, early-morning atmosphere. Jan 21st
37 Jan 26 Comment Howard, This is a beautifully timed action shot with impressive detail, especially in the wings and feet as the bird prepares to land. The background blur works very well, isolating the subject and enhancing the sense of motion. The pre-capture technique was used effectively here, and it shows in the precision of the moment captured. A minor adjustment to the small blue element on the feeder could further reduce visual distraction, but overall this is a strong and engaging wildlife image. Jan 21st
37 Jan 26 Comment Peter, This is a powerful and immersive capture of the Aurora Borealis. The inclusion of the mountains and small buildings adds a strong sense of scale, helping the viewer appreciate the immense energy and size of the aurora overhead. The color intensity and clarity are excellent, and the composition allows the sky to dominate without losing grounding elements in the landscape. The chosen location and timing clearly paid off, resulting in an image that feels both majestic and well-balanced Jan 21st
37 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Ricarda. I appreciate your thoughtful and detailed feedback. Cropping from the left and reconsidering the shooting position are both valuable suggestions for strengthening the composition. I also agree that reducing the yellows could help balance the overall color palette, especially in combination with Bob's observation. Jan 21st
37 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Bob. I appreciate your honest perspective. My intention was to use the road and canopy as a gentle lead-in rather than making the car a dominant element, but I understand your point about it not adding much to the visual story. Toning down the yellows is good advice and something I'll consider refining. Jan 21st
37 Jan 26 Reply Thank you, Howard. I appreciate your observation about how the image draws the viewer in. Brightening the car and the people slightly is an interesting suggestion, and I can see how that could shift the visual emphasis and alter the narrative. I'll definitely keep that in mind when revisiting this image. Jan 21st
