Peter,This is an excellent wildlife macro-style capture, especially considering it was taken handheld with a long telephoto lens. The timing and focus are impressive, and the interaction between the two dragonflies is clearly conveyed. The background color is smooth and pleasing, providing strong separation from the subject.
Your post-processing choices enhance detail without overdoing it, though the dark green leaf at the bottom does draw attention away from the main subject. A tighter crop or selective removal would strengthen the composition further and keep the viewer's focus where it belongs. |

Manas,This is a strong landscape image with excellent depth of field and thoughtful composition. The stones in the foreground act as effective leading lines, guiding the eye naturally toward the dramatic rock formations and distant mountains. Using a wide focal length and a small aperture was the right decision for maximizing depth and clarity throughout the frame.
The early morning light gives the scene clean color and gentle contrast, which enhances the textures without harsh shadows. The balance between foreground, midground, and background is well handled. If anything, a slight adjustment to foreground contrast could help the leading stones stand out just a bit more. |

Kathy,This image is a wonderful example of thoughtful night photography. The use of a tripod and low ISO was a smart technical choice, allowing you to maintain image quality while working with longer exposures. Shooting at f/20 successfully produces attractive starbursts, which add visual interest without overpowering the scene.
The angled composition works well, guiding the viewer through the fountains and illuminated trees, creating depth and flow. Color reflections in the water are handled nicely in post-processing, adding richness without becoming garish. If refining further, slightly reducing the intensity of the brightest highlights could help preserve subtle detail in the light strings. |

Howard, This is a dramatic and emotionally powerful image, driven by extraordinary light. The sun rays breaking through the clouds create a strong visual rhythm that naturally leads the eye toward the solitary tree, which works beautifully as a focal point and symbol of scale. The timing is excellent-this kind of light is fleeting, and you captured it at its peak.
Technically, the exposure balances highlights and shadows well under challenging conditions. The elevated ISO is understandable given the fast shutter speed, and while a slightly lower ISO might have reduced noise, it would have risked losing sharpness or missing the moment. Compositionally, the symmetry and placement of the tree are very effective, and there are no distracting elements pulling attention away from the scene.
