What a fun shot, Bob! And sharp enough to read the words on the tail of the plane. You did a great job with getting the right shutter speed on the propeller. You don't want it too slow or too fast….fast enough for details of moving plane to be sharp and slow enough to blur rather than stop the propeller. Hard to get it right, but you did it. The color contrast is nice between the red and the deepened blue that you created. Kind of fun that both of the people seem to be looking your way. Ha! |

Nice Image of Chicago Cityscape, Howard. The contrast between the water and the lighted buildings is beautiful. I am thinking that this was taken during the blue hour. Perhaps if taken a few minutes later, there might be a darker sky with more contrast with the buildings. I like the highlights in the water, but again it might be a richer effect if overall the water was slightly darker. I like the placement of the horizontal shoreline in the space. It feels balanced. The starbursts are nice and you managed to get them at f/8….perhaps aided by Photomatix? Very pleasing overall. |

Yamuni, this is a gorgeous image. You captured a moment of intimacy and connection. Do I detect a bit of mischief in your eye & expression? The lighting is also a delight. Your features reflect more light from the window than your father's, which draws the eye to your face. The details of your father's face and the lighting on your hair and the reflection on bare skin all add detail and richness to the image. The darkening of the background does indeed focus attention on father and daughter. And your father's hand on your neck and face indicate the closeness of the two. The diagonal tilt of the heads creates a great compositional flow. The image doesn't feel static. Fantastic capture. |
