Yes Howard, I remember feeling a bit overwhelmed with the wide, dramatic view. When everything is dramatic, it poses it own unique challenges in composition. I'm not sure I got it but decided the scenery alone was worth posting. |

What a fun shot, Howard! You definitely stopped the action and caught them at the most interesting moment….when the audience is wondering if they will in fact connect. The two performers are pretty much centered in the photo which seems pleasing to the eye. Yes, I think that so many wires are a bit distracting. Perhaps remove the ones Bob suggested. The colors and color contrast are pleasing. |

Very cool, probably once in a lifetime shot of that whale! Wow! It looks like he posed, haha. That must have been quite an experience! I like the coloration. It looks like a somewhat gray day. Lots of color contrast would have taken attention away from the whale. As it is, your eye is drawn to this huge and magnificent animal. The detail is great. Are those barnacles on his body? |

I like the image in color. The foreground looks used up; dry. The background is lush. Thus, with your metaphor, the man is moving towards some unknown but also towards a richer experience on his journey. My eye also wants to make an adjustment…maybe to be more symmetrical, not sure. But perhaps you want the man to look somewhat unbalanced & unsure on his journey. I like the leading lines created by the cables that are holding the bridge up. Nice! |

Yamuni, this image is rich in color, texture and repetition. I guess you got some of the repetition from the cloning. Very nice. I especially like how the rickshaw driver stands out in colors that contrast with the rickshaws. The texture is glorious. And the image makes me want to go for a ride to experience the culture first hand. I too like the angle. You can see the cab numbers painted on the back of each rickshaw. Nice detail. |

Ahhh…..Lake McDonald. Glacier National Park. Beautiful, Peter! I worked there for one summer in my post college days. It is my favorite place on this earth. I have been back three times since then and hope to go again.
I understand why you have the small rocks in the foreground. During the day, people are always taking pictures of this lake and lots of those images include the rocks in the foreground. The different colors of the rocks are more evident in daylight. I like your inclusion of them, but I think I'd take out the two larger ones. Then you don't have so many things competing for attention, especially with the inclusion of the people. It's a gorgeous image; I particularly like the haze over the water. The colors and reflections are wonderful. Lovely capture. |
