Yes! That looks much better. The symmetry of the face and the wings make the whole image pop. |

Patrick, I respect your experience and comments - but I found this place very creepy. For me, scary creepiness does not have to be dark. It can be in a well lit execution chamber, hospital, deserted hallway - you name it. But I take your point and will experiment with your suggestions. The purpose of the soapsuds was to lend an other-wordly element (death, for example) to what lay beyond the elevator. |

Wow, Jan - I like this one very much. Your chose well in your selection of component images to make this composite. The piece reminds me of the one you did of a man ascending a stairway into another realm. I think there was also a clock in it. In this piece the woman with the child adds a layer of meaning to the theme - showing the way. The different components blend beautifully - I especially love the way the right side of the clock dissolves into the background.

Frans, this is a well executed image. The profile vs frontal views of the woman evokes something different (some sort of conflict?) than if you had kept both views one way or the other. Did you have something in mind when you decided to compose the image this way? After close inspection, I agree with Patrick's comment about the asymmetry (left vs right wings) of the top portions of the butterfly wings. Was this how the wings were originally from the vector image - or did you need to modify them to accomodate the subject that they framed?

Hi Patrick - welcome to DDG Group 34! I second Jan's comment about reducing the image to its essentials. I can imagine that it might have been tempting to include Samz's nose, and maybe other aspects of his face - but sometimes getting carried away can take one in the wrong direction. |
