Frans, I agree those 2 Bekantan at the zoo are off the chart cute! - outstanding photograph. I am not clear how they are incorporated into your composite. Also, I felt that the sharpness of focus of the leaping Benkatan is lacking. I do not feel that the background contributes to the overall composition. Maybe it would be interesting to extract the photos of the leaping primate and transpose them to a completely different background - perhaps in an entirely different context. |

Exquisite creation from the steampunk toolbox! Your composite image is so much more than the sum of its parts. Your technique at bringing everything together is awesome. (Sorry I couldn't come up with anything critical to say!) |

Thanks Jan. Regarding shadows from talons and body of eagle - the light source is a bit ambiguous, but I would say that it is coming from the ground. If that were the case, where would the shadows fall?
Regarding the vapor - I had trouble getting it to do what I had initially intended. As with so many things, my limitations in Photoshop hold me back. Instead of pulling and distorting the vapor to fill the background...I think I ended up simply rotating the vapor layer and superimposing it on the original to better fill the background.
Regarding the sloppy margins of the capitol silhouette - I was so flustered by the many attempts in which I tried to selectively dim the lights of the capitol - each attempt somehow creating fuzzy edges (remnants of masks??) that I ultimately gave up on perfecting that aspect of the image. To me that was the most glaring imperfection of the composition.I could have made things a lot simpler and cleaner by just selecting the capitol, and filling it with black. |

Steve, interesting blend of the 3 images. I liked the texture and colors. I would have liked to see limiting the color to the subject and keeping the background more monochromatic. I am a sucker for the Harris tweed look of the bg in the left image of the triptych. You are miles ahead of me with the software. Very interesting. |
