Thanks for the insights and recommendations. Two thoughts as to why I left room in feot of the subject and added shadow to the area in behind the subjects head.
The subject is inflight, is looking for his nest or next dinner and keeps the viewer looking at the head and reduces the temptation to let the eye wander off of the left side of the photo. The position of the bird is close to the upper right 1/3 of the photo which I find adds to the feeling of movement and action.
Adding shadow behind the subjects head inproves seperation of the subjects head and the background.
As an old friend once sait, "I believe both sides." Thanks again. |

The mood of a isolated walk in the wooks is very relaxing. The time of day subdues and warm lighing gives a warm aura to the photo, verticle lines from the trees and the path keep the eye focused on the walker and dob. Light from the back and side of the subject provices detail and adds to the story. Your detail is sharp and you picked a great place to take pictures.
The picture displays a forest with a small subject.. Another way to look at the photo would be to place the subject a little off center to the left by cropping 25% of the left side, 20% from the right side andd 10--15% from the bottom. (percentages are approximate.) This would change the photo to a larger subject in a smaller section of woods. Just a thought. |

Lovely photo and shooting overhead gave you a solid white base for the photo. The back lighting is effective and adds to the out of focus back ground. Your subject is very sharp, great back lighting no distractins. You had a great day with your camera. |

Great impact with the vivid colors, sharp detail and absolutly no distractions. Having one bird looking at the mate adds a warm touch to the photo. Very nice work.

I speent a lot of time on this photo and like the concept, detail, sharpness and the graduation from sharp images to out of focus frozen ice. The eyes stay with the branches which are sharp and detailed with appealinge color. Just a thought , what would you think of rotating the photo 180 degrees? |

Unique view of alovely lily. The floatin pestils are keeping the eye from wandering to any other area of the photo. One suggestion would be to move the pistils to the right or more in the center as tend to make the eyes stay on the photo. Lovely photo.

Majestic photo. Your composition is very good and the keep the eye from moving off of the bottom. The eyes stay on the middle mountain and the other two have leading lines to focus on the middle. No distractions and you have a lovely photo. |
