Thanks to you both for your good comments. Diana, you're correct about metge , or near merge, on te lower right corner. I need to work on that...the angle take the eye out of the picture. Maybe another crop in from the right. The competition theme is machines and I like your comment about making the viewer wonder what the entire machine as and how might work. |

This image does speak to the rural nature of windmill locations, Rita. It also shows that there can be beauty in the dreary. I think the windmill is in the correct position for your timing with the rays. If it had been enough to the right to be in the thirds it would have drawn your attention from the rays and you would have had two subjects. A bit more to the rght would have given the sun a little more room, though. Great light and color!I like the way the sun is giving light to the foreground. |

Nice job getting the shadows up, the eyes highlighted and cropping in general. I agree with Karen's suggestion about additional cropping. I would go up to the white area on the left. You on't lose that much more of the subject and the distraction would be gone. |

I think I prefer the B&W version because it seem to be in keeping with the scene but both are good. Great detail and texture.
