Thank you both for your comments. The etra contrast does help, Dean, but I think you're both right about the busyness. I think I tried too hard to find a subject for a particular competition. |

I like foggy atmosphere, too, Rita! I find the boat a bit distracting because it's not muted by fog and not a particularly attractive subject. When I looked at your original I was taken with the trees peeking out of the fog in the top right area. Maybe focusing on that area rather than the area with the boat would provide the foggy atnoshpere you were looking for.

I admire your attempt at macro and getting the water droplet ( like Dean, I love those shots). It's not easy...I try it a lot!
I agree with Diana's comment about cropping out some distractions and focusing on the main droplet. I would like to see it a bit sharper with the intention of selective focus against the soft background. The colors are lovely together and nicely saturated. |

Great job with the editing, Diana. You captured the sense of age with the mullions and isolation with the background shot through the window. It was a good choice, I think, to get the sense of place and I like the texture of the peeling paint which also speaks to the age of the motel. You have good foreground, middle ground, and background layers. I have no suggestions for edits.

I'm impressed, Dean, with your ability to use a drone. You certainly captured the scope of the area. I can't comment on any details re the drone itself. I think you will have some great success when using it in the wide open spaces of the west.
My general comments would be to open the shadows a bit. It's hard to tell about noise, etc. but the sky doesn't look noisy and has lovely exposure.
