Melting ice on the lake is always a harbinger of Spring! Great capture with very good dynamic range. I like the individual pieces of ice that are sharp making up the large hunk of ice. The color is spot on with no color casts in the ice. The focus on the ice and foreground is sharp fading to a blur in the background. Laurie, nice work! |

This is a great documentary image. The two men are framed in the image to focus attention on them. The color scheme is bright but subdued so as not to detract from the main subjects. The exposure is perfect to capture the range of tones in the two subjects. Great capture! |

This is a wonderful image! Technically, the exposure and shutter speed to stop action are spot on. I like the almost monochrome color palette with dust in the background which focuses attention on the rider and creates the impression that the horse is coming towards you out of the frame. Well done, Kathleen. |
