Hi Karen - Great job of observation and patience! It really paid off here - the photo is fantastic. The orange flower provides such a great background and contrast for this beautiful Hummingbird! |

Hi Maria - This is another great macro look at a fascinating creature! New England where I live is still snow covered and insects have not yet emerged, but I'm hoping to be able to take some Maria-inspired macro photos soon! |

Fantastic photo Bruce! And how were you doing at -27 F? I don't think I've ever experienced that level of cold and can't really imagine working a camera in such conditions. |

Fabulous photos Adrian, both your first posting and the landscape! I appreciate your comments about the population and the stressors on these fabulous creatures. |

Hi Maria,
Beautiful photo of a stunning bird! F 6.3 seems like a great choice as you got sharp focus on the subject and a nice blurry background.
I am curious about the 1/1250 s shutter speed. Seems faster than necessary for a perched bird but slower than desirable for a bird-in-flight photo. What did you have in mind for the 1/1250 s shutter? |
